Very easy to install and look great. They put off a great deal of light and with the hue app you can get the type of white light you want, dim, set timers, use motion sensors, and all the things the other hue bulbs do. I wish they made the color lights in this style. The lights are great but the hue app can be buggy at times.They work great with Alexa and the hue dimmer switch and motion detector.

I have replaced all of the recessed lights in my home with the Philips Hue Recessed Downlight. Paired with the hub, this system works flawlessly and is easy to connect. I added lights over a period of a few weeks and everything added and completed successfully. The App is simple to use and the lights work in unison when changing brightness and color.

It's a HUE. It's pricey, but if you have the bridge and whole HUE light system, you will most likely get this. As a light, it's not the easiest to install, but it's totally possible just by googling some how-to's. Value for money is not great, since Phillips does charge premium for it's name. If you looking for cheaper solutions they are out there, do some research. However, I enjoy using Phillips and I have no problem paying extra for guaranteed quality. Brightness is not the brightest out there, but this is recessed light. You can adjust brightness and color through the app, and the app itself is why I use HUE.

We love these and added them throughout our house when we had to redo the ceilings. Because they are flat, they bled in every room wonderfully and provide the perfect amount of light.

These were easy to install, and hook up to the hue bridge, but.... you cannot remove them once installed. I have several installed in new construction, and things were working great. Then, I had some water damage and needed to remove them to repair and repaint. They cannot be removed from the fixture. The way the clips are designed makes it impossible to remove. Costing me even more in repairs and having to probably replace the fixture housing.Do not buy this product until they have changed the clip design.

Love these! Super easy to install (make sure you measure and get the correct size). Easy to set up, and that look great!

If you are using these lights with just Alexa and/or the hue app you will love them! A lot of cool features and settings. But if you’re using the hue hub/bridge to connect to your online meethue Account you might be really frustrated and let down. I was never able to connect my online account and that was with 2 days of troubleshooting. But the lights themselves definitely happy with!!

Purchased six of these to replace the recessed lights in my living room that were originally installed by the builder which were way too bright and would not allow for a dimmer. We felt like we were in an interrogation room, so we hardly ever used them in the three years we've been in the house.I happened upon these lights and thought these might just do the trick if they would fit into the existing recessed light holes in the ceiling. I already had a Hue Hub and a few other Hue bulbs in the house, so I researched these, and initially bought just one to see if it would fit and function they way I was hoping they would. It did, and worked great (I also bought the Philips Hue Dimmer Switch Smart Remote to go with the lights), so I turned around and purchased the other five to complete the set.They look great, and they have a thinner outer frame than the original lights I was replacing. Other than that, they have the same coloured frame, and look perfect up there in the ceiling.All the lights installed fairly easy, and the Hue app found each of them with no problems. It took a little while for them all to get their software updates, but I chalk that up to there being a few of them to update all at once. After the software updates were completed, I could then set the Power On Behavior settings to the desired setting.However, while installing them in the ceiling, no matter how hard I tried, I just could not get them to fit flush against the ceiling. There is an ever-so-slight gap between the light frame and the ceiling, so there is some light bleed around the edges. For me though, not a show stopper really.But be warned, they do NOT want to come out easily, so it is best to make sure all connections are properly secured before you pop them into the recessed holes in the ceiling. Would be nice if they came with some sort of a tool that would allow you to push in the tension clips enough to remove them, but maybe I can rig something up myself.As for the light output... great! I tried some of the different standard Scenes, and the lights can go from a soft yellowish-white glow right up to a bright daylight white light and just about everything in between. I set them up to be used with the Hue Dimmer, and it works like a charm.I can now finally use the recessed lights in my living room for more than just conducting interrogations. ;o)

There's no doubt this is a high quality light, but at this price, it should really offer multiple colours, not just various temperatures of white. These are very expensive for what they are.It's also important to know that the 4" dimension refers to the size of the hole the light fights in to. For example, my recessed lighting fixtures are advertised as 5" because that's the diameter of the part we see when looking at the light, but the internal part, the cavity behind the ceiling, is 4". So make sure you get the right size for your fixtures.Finally, the clips used to hold these things in place are so strong I don't think I'll ever be able to pull them out without risking the whole electrical box coming through the ceiling. They're really far too strong for what's really needed.
