What a Book!
Honestly, this is one of the best books I've read in a while. I am of course biased, since I love the philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead. For most of the book, Griffin does a great job walking us through the many theodicies proposed over the past 2000 years, providing some criticisms along the way. In this part of the book, it can be clearly seen what the short comings (at least in Griffin's and my view) of traditional theism are.The final part of the book offers Griffin's own theodicy, based on the work of Whitehead and Hartshorne. It is here when Griffin really shines. His exposition of Whitehead's Philosophy helped me understand Whitehead like I never have before. It also opened the path towards a new vision of God that is, for me at least, very exciting.Ultimately, everything I say about this book will no doubt be biased and subjective. I personally really enjoyed this book. There are ideas here that I will have to chew on for years to come. Highly recommend.

Leading edge of philosophical theology
The successor to Charles Hartshorne in the exposition of Whiteheadian philosophy. If you like Paul Tillich or Hans Küng you will like Griffin.
