COMPLETE INDONESIAN BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE COURSE: (BOOK AND AUDIO SUPPORT)

Knowing I had a trip to Indonesia coming up in a few months I bought the book and the CDs. Having already taught myself some Indonesian by working through Yohanni Johns' Bahasa Indonesia Book 1 about several years earlier I had some foreknowledge, but was not fluent and struggled with conversation. I listened to the CDs in the car on the way to work and practised the interactive conversations nearly every day for several months. The advantage of these CDs is that the conversations are at full speed. This is difficult at first, but you do get used to it. Anyway, when I arrived in Indonesia I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I could quite easily strike up everyday conversations, and importantly, understand the answers. I think it would be quite a challenge to use this book as a complete beginner, because there is a lot of new vocabulary in every lesson, but for my purpose it was ideal.

Contents are well structured and organised.

I ordered this book expecting it to be new, but the copy I received was noticeably in poor condition. The pages are uneven and flimsy, and the book overall looks more like a used or shelf-worn copy rather than a brand-new one. While I haven’t started reading it yet, the physical condition was disappointing. I hope quality checks can be improved to ensure customers receive items in the expected condition.

Already love the book as it is very structured and easy to practice

It's not available for me on kindle 8th generation nor on Android app. Without the audio it becomes a little useless, since pronunciation is a key factor.
