I bought this almost two years ago and it is still working great. The overall microphone quality is good, but there are better ones out there if you want to spend the money. The main advantage to using it for me was to have a microphone that was not an internal camera mic. Internal mics on cameras usually are too far away from the subject, and also they pick up all the noise that the camera operator makes with their hands. I would say the mic is better than most internal camera mics but not by too much.
