The most accurate translation of the Genesis gameplay into a tabletop setting
Genuinely blown away by how accurate this all is to the actual games, considering it's taking high speed platforming and momentum-based physics of the video games and translating it into a turn based dice rolling tabletop game. You have Acts to maneuver through, items, power ups, badniks, beating all the Acts in a Zone unlocks the boss fight, and you have a whole campaign of 4 Zones to get through. You even get access to a special stage, which is mind blowing.Really the only complaints I have is that all the cards and setting up every Zone can be a lot, but then having to reshuffle the special zone cards takes so much time. Really that's the one major complaint I have with this game, is it can take a while to get through, even when everyone knows what they're doing. That being said, me and the two friends I ran a campaign with had a blast, and while we were kinda running out of steam by the end, the secret unlockables we got from getting all the Chaos Emerald cards made it so so worth it.Oh yeah. Unlockables. This tabletop game has secret unlockables. I'm still absolutely blown away by this fact. I'm aware now that this isn't the first tabletop game to have secret unlockables hidden away in the box for when you reach a certain point in the game, but my god, the feeling of discovering all the cool stuff we unlocked at the end was just so incredible. I'm so glad I got to experience that with friends.I'm not sure how likely it is, but the way this game is made makes it very easily to add more content to, so I'd really love to see expansion packs released sometime in the future. You could easily release new Zones, new playable characters, since they're all confined to a handful of cards. I'm planning to curate some new cards for the game myself for personal use, but man I'd love to see some official expansion packs for the game.Anyway, yeah! Had a great time with it. Has some places it could improve on, but overall a damn good time.

Seamless transition from video game to board game
When I first saw that one of my favorite video games had been made into a board game, it was a no-brainer that I made the purchase. At first, I was apprehensive regarding the rules. Although I am an avid board gamer, it seemed like there were a ton of components and the rules seemed extensive for what this was. But, once I learned it, it everything seemed to fall into place. Anyone that is familiar with the video game will greatly appreciate the subtle mechanics that are employed. The game is marketed as a "semi-cooperative" experience and this is true. You are all kind of working together, but at the end, there is still a "winner".The components are fine but I wish that the rings were plastic as opposed to cardboard. It would have been a nice touch. For those that are into 3D printing, upgraded components can be easily designed and printed. It is pretty difficult to store everything in the box once all of the cardboard chips and markers are punched out. This is the biggest con that I have with this product. The plastic insert provided just doesn't cut the mustard. Again, I was able to use my 3D printer to solve the problem. The game does carry a fairly hefty price tag and so, I expected a little better than what was provided.Because there are a variety of game levels and unlock able items, there is a fair amount of replayability. It's refreshing that you all work cooperatively and yet there still is a winner. The setup for the game is not quick. However, the experience of the gameplay is indeed worth it. I am hopeful that more games of this nature will be produced. If future incarnations are as clever as this, they will be a welcome addition to my game library.

A High-Quality Licensed Game
This is a shockingly good licensed board game that's appropriate for both Sonic fans and serious board game enthusiasts. Despite the gameplay itself being a bit "slow", it still brings out the Sonic experience and feels very much like a Sonic Mania tie-in. The mechanics are simple once you've had maybe one full game to get used to them. A Sonic tie-in board game really has no business being this good, it's definitely not a cheap cash-in on the license at all.

Nice table top version of the game
This is a nice table top version of the game but like others have said, it takes a while to set up some of the sections. This game requires some patience as it takes time to.learn how to set everything up but it's a really fun game to play with friends or family. The pieces are sturdy too.

shockingly fun
I'm not a big non-traditional board game guy. Spending an hour to learn the rules for a 30 minute game isn't for me. But I gave this Sonic game a shot with some kiddos and we all had a blast. Decently deep gameplay, but you're not checking back every roll of the dice to see what you actually need to do. Intuitive and just fun.

Sonic fans who also like dice games, you have found your perfect product.
Specifically, this is for dice game fans who are very into the Sonic the Hedgehog IP. Mechanically, it is a good game. Some things aren't very obvious at first, but that is where the convergence of Fandom and gameplay meet. If you give it a real honest chance, it is a good game with replayability and even some extras hidden beneath the insert! Each character is very different in playstyle, and adds unique elements to the team-up, or solo play. Components are all very well done; except the plastic insert that arrived damaged and basically crumbled as I tried to remove it.I only recommend it for the Sonic Fandom who also like chucking dice and figuring out the interactions. But I DO recommend it there.*Solo play is still just as enjoyable!*
