Root, the main character is funny, and bright and a worthy role model for young girls. All of the other characters are equally fleshed out. There is just so much imagination. Think fairy tale, but with a lot of heart and humor. I don't want to say too much, cuz it's a great read. My grand daughter and grand son, both enjoyed it.
