Great introductory set
I bought this product for my niece and she seems to like it a lot! She wanted to try Copic markers, so I’m glad I could find a good gift for her. She said coloring sheets are kind of small, but I guess you can probably enlarge and make a copy at home if you want them in a bigger size.

Copic Ciao Cool Set
I love Copic markers and normally use the sketch, but I didn’t have these colors and hadn’t yet tried the ciaos so i picked these up. These are just as good as the sketch markers. Ink and colors are the same, nibs are the same (brush and chisel), and the alcohol ink is so smooth and pigmented. It seems like it’s just a smaller body size, and I’m assuming less ink. I actually think I find these more comfortable to use than the sketch (smaller size for smaller hands). Moving forward I might switch to the ciaos, at least in the available colors. I like these mini sets to start, as the colors are coordinated for blending, and they even give you a little illustration to color to try them out. These sets take the guess work out of color selection for layering and blending, making it great even if you’ve never used alcohol markers before. Be warned though, once you get used to using Copics you’re going to get spoiled and not want to use anything else.

Copic Ciao Illustration Mini Cool Set
Copic markers are known for their quality. I have tried several brands of alcohol markers and, in my opinion, they are the best quality you will find. I have been using Copics for 10 and already owned approximately 130 of the 358 colors available when I ordered this set. I buy them because they are refillable, the brush nib is a dream to color with and they are a long-term investment. Once you own them, you can use them for a lifetime. As well as refills being available in every color, the nibs are replaceable and often interchangeable for a different type of nib, if you prefer one that didn't come on the marker marker you bought. The colors blend together nicely with little effort. Even though I have hundreds of dollars invested in my Copics, I am by no means an expert! Not that they are hard to use, but like most things in life, the more time you put into practicing, the more polished your work will become. I am an avid paper crafter who makes a lot of greeting cards. I use my markers for coloring stamped images for my cards. I was so excited to find this set that had only one color I already owned, as well as the multiliner, which until now, I had only owned in black. Some people consider Copics to be expensive. I don't feel that way. By the time I refill it my Copic markers and replace the nibs when it is time (which is very seldom because they are so well made andt, they last a very long time). The less expensive markers I have used don't blend as well, (or the lighter colors cause the darker colors to fade out completely), they usually come in a package deal where you can't choose the colors you want, and they usually have a bullet tip nib instead of a brush nib. The nib they come with are not replaceable and fray easily and, you end up putting one more piece of plastic in the landfill. Most of the nexpensive markers are not available individually, so once you use up your favorite color, you either buy a whole new set, or do without that color. I could say so much more about why Copics are not expensive compared to cheaper brands, but I have gone on long enough.

A Great Place to Start
Copic markers are known as being one of the best brands in alcohol markers for a reason. This set comes with five markers and a fineliner, along with some printed linearts to test things out on. The fineliner is very fine, and good for small details. It dries pretty quickly and doesn’t smudge or bleed when you use the markers over top of it. When I was doing my test flower, I wasn’t really paying attention to where my hand was and I moved it over relatively fresh ink more than once. I would have expected some smearing, but was pleasantly surprised. For the markers, the nibs were very responsive and felt great to use. They didn’t feel rough or like they were dragging on the paper, instead feeling very smooth and almost like they were gliding. The ink in them came out smooth, and while it went down very dark compared to the final color, it dried to look almost identical to the cap color. The ink was easy to put down with nib to not have brush strokes, it layered well, and to no ones surprise, as part of the appeal of alcohol markers in the first place is blending, they blended really well. The colors picked do work well together as a palate, and can work well for certain themes. However, the color combo is a bit limiting, so buying your own markers individually might be something nice if you know more what you’re looking for.Overall, I would highly recommend this set to beginners who want to try out alcohol markers and see if they like them.

good quality but much too pale
First off, Copics are excellent markers in general. This particular set of Copic markers is fine, except that, in my opinion, the colors are much too pale and muted to use as a stand-alone set. You can barely see the blue one at all and the peachy one isn't much better. They would be good as a supplement to a much larger set of markers that has all the brights & darks, but that might be lacking in lighter tones. By itself, this set is almost useless.

Fun Copic set!
I love that Copic is doing these sets because it really makes them more accessible to everyone! I like that they include a fineliner and makerkers that all work together. And what a fun bonus to have images ready to color!
