I bought this protein powder to add to my overnight oats and smoothies to add protein without a bunch of flavor or sweetness. This product works perfectly for that. The unflavored has a slightly malty flavor that is easily covered up by other ingredients. You would definitely taste it’s flavor if you just mixed it with milk or water though. It’s not an unpleasant flavor, but it is noticeable on its own. The powder mixes easily with liquid and has a nice amount of protein per serving.

Update (3/16/2024): The price, as with most food items, just keeps climbing and climbing. Just two months after original purchase, it shipped Subscribe and Save with a $12 increase. You think you can play games with the price once people subscribe? Cancelled!Original Review (Jan 2024): This is about the most affordable whey protein I can find available as of January 2024. I've been struggling trying to down pea and brown rice protein the past couple of years as the price of whey protein went astronomical. But I'm sick of those vegan proteins now and want to go back to whey. So, I'm sucking it up and paying the elevated price of $55 for a 5lb tub (Subscribe-and-save).This whey protein has great flavor for being unflavored. I mix it with whole milk and a mixture of a few other things, including hemp seeds, chia seeds, and MCT oil. It tastes lightyears better than the vegan proteins (which are repulsive and required lots of masking). It also mixes fairly well, with very little clumping.Whey protein also has the benefit that it doesn't create a huge mess when transferring from the tub to the bottle. The vegan protein powders always got absolutely everywhere, no matter how careful I was in scooping them out and dumping in the bottle. The whey is just far superior and much cleaner to mix.I don't buy the flavored whey protein powders anymore, as they usually either contain too much sugar or artificial sugars (like sucralose or acesulfame potassium, which are carcinogens) in addition to unhealthy fillers (like maltodextrin, which is just another type of sugar/carb) and emulsifiers. Almost none of them contain stevia anymore (unless they're way overpriced). So I just buy unflavored and add my own healthier flavoring, like pure cocoa powder. I am aware that the sunflower lecithin added to this is an emulsifier, which I could do without. But you won't find an affordable whey protein without at least one other ingredient like an emulsifier. At least it's the only other ingredient in this one.

Mixes very easily, vanilla but, taste pretty good, great buy.

After I received this, I did an initial taste test with plain water to see exactly what kind of flavor the powder had. It was not disagreeable at all. It kind of tasted like a malt milkshake with no sweetener and no vanilla flavor (if that makes sense). I am on a keto, low carb diet so there is not much I can mix it with that has little to no carbs. Will buy again.

I just got this in and I’m very happy with the product. I blended it for 10 seconds with a cup of oat milk. It blends perfectly, and is creamy and pleasant. You know that slight aftertaste you get with protein powder? Yeah, that’s exactly what this is. I think it’s lovely! So glad there’s a protein powder option without all of the artificial sweeteners.

This is the ideal protein powder for someone that doesn’t want too many junk ingredients or artificial sweeteners. Too many ingredients, as found in other flavored protein powders, can add more processing steps in upstream manufacturing, introducing impurities like heavy metals into the mixture.The flavored types from other brand won’t necessarily kill you, but I purchased this brand of protein powders with long term use in mind.It’s versatile enough that you can add a scoop of it to increase the protein content of anything you eat or drink. Do be aware that it does taste a bit like milk, which is fine because I add it to my milkshake daily. I’m on my third purchase now and will likely continue to do so. My only complaint is that the original bag doesn’t zip well at all. So I normally dump everything into another large container.

I read most of the reviews and most negative ones were from people saying it did not mix well. WRONG! It mixes just fine. No clumping and very little froth. Others were expecting it to be completely flavorless. They aren't very bright because NOTHING is completely flavorless. This product tastes great to me with just water, much better than the flavored powders on the market. I use 6oz of water and 2oz of V8 juice and it is awesome. If you're like me and can only take so much sweet during the day, then this is for you. Since it's flavor is minimal at best, I can cook with it also. Protein packed meatballs/meatloaf is on the menu now!

I add this to my coffee in the moring. It tastes nice, like just powdered milk, and it seems to curb my appetite a little bit.
