Walk! La Palma

I had an earlier edition of this excellent guidebook. It's good to see a new edition. The maps are updated and really clear yet detailed. There are three new routes and updates on the other routes. It's well worth getting this new 3rd edition and I would also recommend the companion La Palma Tour & Trail Super-Durable Map, latest 5th edition (ISBN 9781782750222) which is really detailed and indispensable for walking, biking and driving.

Very useful guide. I did only a few of the described walks and the descriptions were accurate and helpful. I do not necessarily agree with their beauty rating, but this is subjective... I would have appreciated more pictures to get a better idea of the scenery.I do not recommend purchasing the complementary map (though it is of very good quality and can be very helpful for planning) as I found the GPS tracking data much more useful (I recommend OsmAnd for this). In most of the cases, the map sections of the walks should be enough though.

I used this guide on a recent visit to La Palma and found it very helpful in all the walks I did. Not only did it cover a large number of possible walks but described the way so clearly that you could not go wrong. I would however encourage the author and his helpers to do some of the walks again as the local signposting has been changed in some places and in one I was so keen on following them that I walked much further than the walk described. Also there are parts of the GR131 eg from the cross-island road to El Paso going northwards that would make good walks. Keep up the good work.

This book helped make our holiday awesome- it's description of length, ease or difficulty was very helpful- where it says those who suffer vertigo shouldn't go take heed!Helped with planning days out where to park and if there is refreshment accurate on that too. Like taking the bus back from Tazacorte back up to Mirador del Time- beer was great after the precipitous walk down!Delivered very quickly too

Helpful guide when used with the Tour and Trail Map. I have always bought DWG guides and the instructions are always detailed. It also includes a rating of the exertion and if there are any vertiginous sections (very helpful for some walks)La Palma is one of the nicest of the Canary Islands and this guide helps you see more of it. Any major updates are included on their website.

Like the friendly style of it. There are plenty of walks, instructions seem very good and relate well to the maps with way points marked and referred to in instructions so it's easy to see where you are. Works well with their island map and good variety of walks.

book in good condition. A great series of hiking guides.

Useful for a trip to La Palma - a lovely place.
