These are INCREDIBLE!
I finally wore out a 20+ year old set of kitchen scissors that came with an old knife set we still us. I had a hard time deciding which pair I wanted to get to replace the old ones with but I finally decided to pay a little extra and go with these. Why? Because I've learned to trust and respect Japanese products. These scissors are really incredible! They are actually sharper than most of my kitchen knives and, without any doubt, they DEMAND RESPECT AND ATTENTION while you're using them. They're so sharp, I keep reminding my wife to be very careful any time I see her pick them up.The quality and functionality are exactly what I was hoping for and, from what I can tell, they'll be with us for many years to come. The only thing I noted about them that was a bit unusual is that the little "stud" that attaches the two sides of the scissors and acts as their axle is held together with a nut. I did need to tighten the nut on my pair but I don't think that is something that's going to develop into a problem in the future. What struck me as strange is that my old pair of scissors had essentially this same design but the "stud" was permanently attached to that blade and never required any tightening or adjustment in 20 years. These may require an occasional tightening...not sure yet.Overall, I think these scissors are a really great choice and I truly love products that consistently put a smile on my face every time I use them. These are definitely THAT GOOD. I paid a bit more for them than I would have paid for some of the others but that "smile" (satisfaction) is always well worth the little extra expense. Just be careful you don't cut yourself. Keep your wits about you and you'll surely love these scissors exactly as I do. If you happen to cut yourself, just remember that it's your fault for not paying attention. They're just a highly effective tool. Respect them!

They're Worthwhile
Wife is tough on scissors. Tough-on-scissors. I have to hide mine from her because i need them sharp. She's been through more than I care to tally. (Did I mention she's tough on 'em?) I've seen her destroy her sewing scissors to pry, cut cardboard, rose stems, trim shrubs and muddy roots outdoors (disregarding other heavier duty scissors and two pairs of pruning shears), and then put them away still wet after a careless wipe of a paper towel, because she had trashed her kitchen scissors too much to use them. I bought her these nearly 3 years ago. She uses them daily (still tough on 'em) I've seen her trim light shrubs, cut cardboard, plastics, thin aluminum and copper, hard flower stems, 16 gauge wire, popsicle sticks, and all kinds of vegetables with them and they're still good, reasonably sharp, and without rust. Impressive. Im-press-ive.

Cuts well, disassembles for sanitizing.
I bought these to replace a 20+ year old pair from Chicago cutlery when my handle broke. These are excellent! They cut well and come apart to get them truly clean. I do t need a second pair, but if I did I’d definitely buy these.

These are awesome!
I bought my original pair to replace the shears in my Amazon Basics knife block. I simply kept losing them, because I was always using them to cut random things that were too tough for scissors, but not tough enough for sheet metal shears. I eventually found the Amazon shears, and relegated them to a dusty drawer somewhere. The Canary shears live in my knife block now. After I got one pair, I got two, and now I have four. These extremely useful kitchen shears will cut through any reasonable kitchen stuff, and they are also great for cutting lots of other random things. I have a pair for the knife block, a pair for the toolbox, a pair for the Jeep, and a spare pair in a drawer, for the next time I misplace the ones in the knife block.Seriously, for what these cost, they're an amazing value! The blades are ground in a way that leaves them with micro-serrations, and they are wicked good at cutting through tough stuff. I bet they make great leather shears too, though I don't think I actually tried that one.

Shorter shears than I thought was standard and not as cleanable
These were purchased to replace a pair of Kershaw kitchen shears that I’ve had for decades. They eventually reached a point where they just couldn’t be functional for me anymore. I bought these with the knowledge that they don’t come apart for running in the dishwasher or for handwashing. It wasn’t until I got them that I realized that I really really am fond of that feature. No little places for insidious germs to hide if they disassemble. The blades are also shorter than what I’m used to and thereby wouldn’t cut everything that I wanted to cut. If I’m allowed to say so here, I ran out and purchased the Kershaw shears. I found a use for these and they are now part of our dog supplies and I’m sure they’ll come in handy.

Love them, great gifts, so washable!
I had a pair of nice come-apart scissors for 20+ years, but after MANY droppings and dishwasher trips, one of the notches finally broke. This one looked like the closest, so I bought them about a year ago and love them! I gave several pair as stocking stuffers this Christmas - I just had to spread the joy!

Sharp Scissors!
I love these scissors, they fit in my knife block perfectly where I needed a replacement. I can cut through chicken and meats to remove fat or gristles making food preparation easy and quick. Nothing bad to say about these scissors. They are dishwasher safe but I hand wash and use alcohol to clean them. Definitely would purchase these again.
