This is a beautifully presented set of inspirational quotations from Stoic philosophers. Stoicism originated in ancient Greece and Rome, but has enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent years as an antidote to some of the ills of modern life. In some ways the philosophical basis of modern methods of psychological treatment such as cognitive behaviourism, it has also been popularised by modern thinkers like Derren Brown (author of "Happy") whose performances seek to go much deeper into his audience's psychology than most stage hypnotists. I received this item via the vine programme. Here is my honest and unbiased review. This is a really nice gift for someone who appreciated literature and philosophy. It is very nicely made and presented in an attractive green box. There are 52 quality cards each with a quote on, for you to display in the small wooden baton which has a slit to insert the bottom of the card in. It is a really really nice item, beautifully made in quality materials! HOWEVER, £28, seriously, £28 New English Pounds!!!!! Far too high a price, I thik this should be at the very £5 cheaper! This product is a definite 5 Stars, but due to price I am giving it 3 Stars!

This card set is beautifully packaged and excellent quality. I bought them as a gift to myself. Life just took a turn. As usual my “go to” is to try to control outcomes. These cards have delivered wise, meaningful yet simple advice. They have brought me an unusual sense of calm amidst chaos and the encouragement to embrace this change as an exciting adventure. I change the cards out every few days and take time to meditate each morning. I will be ordering more sets as gifts for friends and clients.

Read a few quotes and they were decent. Overall the design could be better as you have to keep the box and rotate the cards out versus having them all sitting there to switch out as needed.
