SK 10" Heavy Duty Scissors All Purpose, Industrial Shears, One Piece Blades

Bought the SK 10" for a heavy cutting project in my shop. Wow, what an improvement over the household scissors I'd been using previously. Sharp, sturdy and will cut through most materials with ease. They're so good that they're now splitting time between the shop, the den and the sewing area. We will probably end up buying a pair for each room. Nicely done SK!!!!

Just got these SK 7-inch heavy duty scissors and they’re fantastic! The drop-forged CR-V blades are super sharp right out of the box and cut through thick leather, cardboard, and wire like butter. The safety lock works perfectly, and the ergonomic green handles feel great even after long use. Solid build quality, no blade wobble at all. Way better than the cheap scissors I used to buy. These are staying in my toolbox for good.

I ordered about five different shears to test while on duty at the fire department. These are my favorite so far. They are compact and light weight but they are versatile and pretty tough.I tested all of them on seatbelts, airbags, battery cables, nails, sheet metal, and the tie hanger wire for drop ceilings.Some of the other tools I tested excelled on a couple things, but this one was the only one that was able to cut everything.Spring loaded handles make them easy to use, but the safety could be difficult with gloves on or low visibility.Try them out!

Wow! These are even better than I had expected, I might need to get more from this brand, the forged steel is noticeably higher quality than other shears.They are heavier in weight, comfortable to use with a good quality grip coating. You pay more but you get more good value IMO.

Super quality. I use these to trmmers for indoor plants and trees. Also great for cutting packing tie straps. Truly all purpose.

I've avoided "giant scissors" for a long time and gotten by with real snips in several styles, cheapie all purpose shears (like the "red dot" type), and my favorite X-Shears EMT shears which are just fantastic....and those straight long snips from Steadl are ok.I looked at a lot of these and wanted a good full offset handle - in that category the Milwaukee seems to win where these, the Crescent-Wiss and most others drop down just a little below horizontal. Without going to more expensive carpet shears, that is. I almost bought the Crescent and those seem to be pretty excellent scissors, but they don't have an offset version with a blade as long as these SK do. The Milwaukee have the same longer blades but they're pretty thin, like a standard 3mm or a bit less, just typical.These blades are STOUT and thick...you can see that in the photos but once in hand it's like...thicc man. Sometimes that beef gets in the way but for what I want these for mostly it'll be better. They're normal steel instead of stainless, too, which is great. Stainless just doesn't get as hard and wears too quickly, so I'm happy to put up with any risk of rust spotting, but y'know, just take care of them or buff it off later.Tired of all the "reviews" testing construction scissors with nothing more than thin cheapo cardboard and such. I can say happily that these will mow through double layer heavy cotton canvas duck, plastic zipper coils, leave a great cut on 2mm and 4mm acrylic felt, handled Samson uhmwpe rope very well, and actually did ok on some scrap bumper valance plastic (snips are better there, though). Thick rubber hoses and any silicone or pvc tubing, no problem at all. I think you could muscle it through pex, too, but that's kind of abusive for these.Love the green color - very visible and helps them stand out among other tools in a bag or drawer.Two niggles. The nut on mine wants to work loose and requires attention too frequently. I can fix that - it's just a normal nylock nut and a replacement or some threadlock will be fine. I'm glad it's a standard nut so these can be separated for easier sharpening. But...the sharpening. Mine weren't so pristine. The serrated half had a good wave in it and that can't really be corrected at home. The plain half was a bad grind and had a big constant burr along most of its length along with a dip near the tip - fixed that with a little stoning.You may know that SK as we knew them are basically no more. These are just a rebadged china import from Great Star, who bought SK some years back. Most of the current SK offerings are just nicer China tools now, but they do have some very good ones and a few standouts. They also operate under many other labels (such as Workpro and Duratech here on Amazon...and the Duratech scissors look to be the exact same as these near as I can see). Pony/Jorgensen and ShopVac are other companies that Great Star bought up, and I think Arrow as well. Might pay to look at those other brands and compare pricing if they have the same thing and you don't need to have green. For now, SK is still plugging along and the offerings are pretty decent, but it's not the SK we all knew and respected so don't expect that kind of older quality and warranty support.
