Mid-priced shotgun microphones often suffer from a large amount of self noise. Even Rode's cheaper video mic shotgun range are too noisy for most broadcast applications. And it's true that unless you drop a grand on this sort of mike to get the Sennheiser, your mileage will vary.However - this microphone is superb. It's a short shotgun and despite its length it's still highly directional and will pick up sounds from pretty far away. The noise floor is low - it's good enough for most applications. It's not absolutely clean but it's more than decent enough for most applications. As ever if you need to wind in lots of gain to amplify low levels, you'll get some self-noise that you might need to EQ away but at normal levels, it's very acceptable.Overall this is a good product at a reasonable price point. The NTG4 needs phantom power so make sure your kit can power it otherwise you'll need an outboard phantom power supply or to upgrade to NTG4+

You must have seen the YouTube videos. These are excellent bits of kit. I didn’t really have £800 plus to buy a second-hand Sennheiser for 16, but I can tell you that this sounds pretty similar You need something that can run phantom power for this model, but if you haven’t got it, you could go down the line of the Plus model. The only reason I did not go for the other model was that there was a 28 day wait for delivery and phantom power is not a problem to me. You won’t be disappointed

As a filmmaking student I have to say about this one - when connected to my Zoom H4n pro is absolutely out of this world!!!

So upgrading my items and decided I needed a shotgun MicrophoneI like the look of this mic and RODE is a great companyI've used it a few times I like the features with pad and low cut on the MicrophoneIts a clear microphone and performs really well, at times it might have a little to high end and not enough low end however the sound has a great clarity to it and it works for me. The recording I've had with it and sent on have had no issues so over all its a great microphone, only 4 stars as clearly there is more expensive microphones out there with better reviews and quality but for me and depends how you look at this but for someone with a low-mid end budget its a great mic and will cover all your needs and might be the only microphone youll ever want or need. Comes with a nice litte array of goodies, nice Rode case whch is helpful, nice foam, wish it came with a dead cat but had to buy one seperate I bet some will come in a deal package if you look around but a great Microphone to last the time. Glad to have bought it

A wonderful shotgun mic. A fraction of the price of its famous competitor, but delivers almost identical aural performance. Well packaged and easy to set-up. I use mine for voiceover projects, and this mic cuts-out so much extraneous noise. Recommended

Mic didn't work, contacted Rode as I really wanted the mic but seller has no more in stock. Rode couldn't honour warranty as it was very old manufacturing date. Must have been at the seller's for years.

Der Klang ist sehr sehr sauber und die Stimme klar und deutlich. Natürlich hängt die Beurteilung von den Erwartungen ab. Es klingt selbst für mich als Privatanwender etwas "flach". Das war mir aber nicht so wichtig, da ich ein Schwerpunkt auf eine präzise Stimmaufnahme lege. Der Low Filter ist bei mir eingeschaltet, der Effekt ist gering aber merklich, so ist das PC Brummen/Rauschen etwas weniger stark hörbar.Ich habe mit dem Windschutz gespielt (benötige ich nur im Sommer wenn ein Ventilator im Zimmer läuft) und die Aktivierung des High Boosts in dem Szenario erachte ich als sinnvoll, sonst ist der aus da es die Stimme etwas "künstlicher" erscheinen lässt.Die Richtwirkung ist gut (Aufnahme ca. 80cm-1m von mir entfernt). Wenn ich den Kopf drehe und in eine etwas anderer Richtung spreche fällt es dem Zuhöhrer auf. Geräusche von der Seite werden doch noch überraschend stark wahrgenommen, in meinem Anwendungsszenario ist das aber nicht relevant.Verarbeitungsqualität finde ich gut, habe aber nur wenig Vergleichserfahrung. 200€ waren für mich absolute Schmerzgrenze - überzeugt hat ich letztlich die 10Jahre Rode Garantie. Insgesamt bin ich mit dem Mikro zufrieden, kann mir aber vorstellen das es im Profi Umfeld eher weniger geeignet ist.

Ben hayatımda bu kadar berbat bir kargolama yöntemi görmedim, ciklet mi aliyoruz bir asgari ücret parasını verip mikrofon alıyoruz. Kolinin dışı leş gibiydi aşırı tozluydu ama neyse dedim içindeki önemli iyi sarmislarsa birseycik olmaz ama yok içi dışından daha beter bir haldeydi. Yanına bir kac sayfa kağıt sıkıştırmış mikrofonun kutusunu olduğu gibi içine atmışlardı. Allah'tan rode firması kutuyu tasarlarken kendi önlemini almista kırılmadan bana ulaşmış mucize gibi resmen üstelik satıcı dalga geçer gibi mikrofonun fiyatını ertesi gün 200 kusur indirmiş yanlış anlaşılma olmasın indirim değil direk fiyatı öyle yazmış. Yonettigim kanallarda ihtiyaç olmasa gerisin geriye gonderecektim de içeriklerin yetismesi lazım elde olan bütün mikrofonlar kayitci yüzünden yandı mecbur kaldım geri gondermemeye. Mikrofon tek kelimeyle şahane daha evvel marantz markasından ve bir çok markadan değişik ürünler kullandım son mikrofonumla aynı kaliteyi veriyor dip ses çok ama çok az. Post aşamasında bir kaç ufak müdahaleyle iyi işler çıkıyor ortaya. Birde faturamı yollamadilar e devlet sisteminde sirketimin adına çıkarmaları gerekirken hiç birşey yapilmamis

Il connettore XLR è ben fatto, i 3 Pin sono placcati in oro (ottimo aspetto) e il tubo anti-interferenza è progettato e costruito benissimo.•QUALITÀ AUDIO:Ho provato e testato con cura il RØDE NTG4 per un paio di mesi, e sarò felice di utilizzarlo in progetti futuri. Il suo tubo anti-interferenza isola molto bene l'audio dai lati, rendendolo un microfono shotgun super-cardioide davvero di qualità, di poco inferiore al top di gamma NTG3, che costa almeno 3 volte tanto.I 3 pulsanti digitali si sono resi molto utili in diverse situazioni: ho molto apprezzato il Low-Cut Filter (se non sbaglio a 75Hz o 80Hz), davvero utile ad eliminare rumori provenienti dal boom che lo sostiene oppure i movimenti imprevedibili del cavo che si muove. Nonostante il Low-Cut Filter attivato, si preserva un sacco di fedeltà nei bassi, soprattutto della voce, rendendolo un microfono molto equilibrato.Presenta anche l'High-Frequency Boost, utile quando lo si utilizza con la spugna anti-vento e/o con il RØDE Blimp in esterni, perché questi riducono e attutiscono leggermente le frequenze più alte. Davvero comodo e semplice da attivare.Ho fatto alcuni test audio registrando con un Tascam DR-70D, Phantom Power 48V, importati su Adobe Audition, normalizzato le tracce audio e misurato il "self-noise" del microfono: valori tra i -62dB e -69dB, che con una leggera pulizia del suono si arriva benissimo anche a -72dB! Questo significa che il rumore generato dai circuiti interni del microfono è davvero minimo, addirittura impercettibile! Sono gli stessi risultati raggiunti da microfoni che costano anche 1000€ (come il Sennheiser MKH 416) o il RØDE NTG3. Qualità davvero impressionante per 200€.•CONCLUSIONI:Il prezzo è più che giusto per un microfono di questa qualità, dalla costruzione impeccabile, design migliorato e soprattutto con le funzioni che sull'NTG2 non sono presenti. Io ho scelto il modello da alimentare solo con Phantom Power, ma esiste il RØDE NTG4+ (Plus) che ha al suo interno una batteria al Litio che alimenta il microfono, ricaricabile tramite MicroUSB. Entrambi sono acquisti validi per la fascia di prezzo e la qualità offerta, soprattutto per come sono silenziosi questi microfoni, ossia non generano rumore e catturano l'audio fedelmente e con una qualità pazzesca.Sono davvero contento dell'acquisto, lo consiglio vivamente, soprattutto abbinato al RØDE Blimp, ossia il metodo migliore per catturare l'audio in esterna senza vento. Acquisto consigliatissimo!

Très bon micro de terrain pour les tournages. Son de qualité et traitement efficace. Très bonne restitution des voix et bruitages. Je recommande
