Do this to save your transmission
This thing is great. My valve died so my transmission overheated heavily and as soon as I swapped this in it has never overheated. Went from running at 200+ to never being above 185. My 2018 gmc 1500 6L80 has never been happier and neither have I. This product saves you thousands on repairs and takes 5 mins to install. Only this you need to be aware of is it requires you taking a little c clip snap ring out which you need a set of snap ring pliers for to make it easy. Ran to AutoZone and grabbed them for 10 bucks. I got away with using picks and assorted tools from my garage to get it out but you probably will give up and need the pliers to put it back in. Great product

A must need product if your transmission is getting hot
I received my product and installed it the next day. Very simple to install. Instructions are easy to follow and so simple. Great fit, great value for the money and no leakage at all. Once installed my temperatures dropped by 40 degrees. I was running at 205 degrees, I am not running between 150 and 167 degrees. This is amazing. I am not having any durability issues at the moment. I recommend this product to anyone who is having a transmission heating issues or overheating issues.

If your keeping your silverado you need this
So far so good! Went from 200+ temps in regular traffic to not over 175, great for preserving the life of the silverado transmission. Couple min to install, snap ring pliers from harbor freight $5, and a 13 socket is all you need. PS , helps to install the line rings into place on the bypass before installing back on the truck so the lines just pop back in when you insert them

2015 GMC Sierra 5.3l (6l80 transmission)
If you pull a trailer, have a constant load, live in a warmer climate, or just want your transmission to last longer, I recommend this device. Especially for the price. Very easy installation for the driveway DIYer. I installed on a 2015 GMC Sierra 5.3l with a 6l80 NEW transmission that I had to replace at ~84kmi. Normal temp on stock valve opens at 194*F. This modification keeps the temps well below that and circulates the fluid all times. One thing to note, the little bracket that holds the cooler lines to it is ONE WAY. It looks symmetrical at first glance but is very slightly offset. The holes will not line up if not the right way. I have driven across the country and it has kept temps below 160 while moving. I also have a constant weight as I am a full time overlander. I havenโt tested in the extreme summer temps yet but no matter what, it will keep the transmission running cooler.

For my 2018 GMC SIERRA 6 SPEED TRANS PICKUP. Absolutely a must!
For my 2018 GMC SIERRA 6 SPEED TRANS. Absolutely a must for newer gmc pickups. For several years my truck on occasion would start shifting hard then go into limp mode with no power. I would need to disconnect the battery and wait 20 min to clear codes and get going again but typically it would reoccur soon after. Codes inducated a tcm ans ecm issue. On my last 600 mile trip it broke down 6x but I turned on my trans temp display on my driver info center and saw the trans was hitting between 280 and 288 degrees when the problem occured. I did some research and discoveted gm had put the wrong transmission thermostat in the thermostat block attached to the side of the trans on the drivers side. I purchased this bypass in desperation and found it pretty easy to install. Just 2 trans lines held in place with a single bracket and 2 bolts which also held the trans thermostat housing in place. Very little trans fluid leaked. The kit was easy to install with the only slight difficulty was getting the c-clip out. Good easy instructions. After reassembly I was amnazed that my trans rarely gets above 170 and many times never gets above 150 degrees! Thats 100 to 140 degrees lower. That was over a month ago and no banging, hard shifts or issues at all! Since the trans had got so hot I did do a trans service myself which is a pia but will save you several hundred dollars. Even if you aren't experiencing similar issues I would highly recommend buying this. I believe in the long term it will extend the life of your gm trans. Well worth the $50. Just wish I had got it several years ago!

Worth it
Worked as advertised for me, seeing atleast a 20ยฐ temp decrease, even on 100ยฐ days while doing hour long drives. Took about 10 minutes to swap while doing a service on the transmission.

Works great on higher/older factory thermostat bypass
Do your research on your vehicle before buying. My 2016 had the 180-190 degree thermostat in it from the factory. So I went from running up to 190 after warm up and never coming back down to 120 on a 30 mile daily interstate trip in the morning. When I started hitting stoplights in town it went to 130, then would drop back to 128 once I was moving for a few blocks. In about 2017 the factory installed the 140 degree thermostat so if you already have that you wonโt see the result Iโm getting. I only gave 4 stars for two reasons. Although I bought the kit with the gasket it did not come with the 2 small o rings for the cooler lines so do not lose them when taking the block off. One of my o rings stayed in the block and the other on the line. The second reason is the instructions didnโt state whether or not to leave the bottom factory spring in or out of the block. I stopped there and went to good ole YouTube for clarification. You remove all the internal parts including the factory spring and install all the parts from the kit. Im looking forward to the same trip home in the heat today to see how low it runs. Update, 30 mile drive home on interstate the same day, 95 degrees outside, trans temp stayed at 140 degrees the whole way home. 50 degree drop in operating temperature. I wish I would have installed this a long time ago.

Chevy trans fix
Install was easy enough with instructions, trans temp gauge showed cooler right away after install. 3 months since install and still happy with results

Better than a transmission cooler in my opinion for normal use
Easy to install by yourself Transmission temperature used to be at 130 C in a 30 minute mountain pass in 20 C weather. Now its 100 C in the same mountain pass and 30 C weather. Also, transmission temperature will go back to 85 C after 20 minutes of normal driving.

Buena calidad pero no funciona como esperaba
Bueno se lo instale a una silverado 2019 con transmision 6L80 pero veo que no es mucha la diferencia en la temperatura

Great product well worth it
Great product every thing was quality made fit like it is suppose to make huge difference when towing trans never exceeds 40 c 104 f even when hauling a decently heavy load recommended to any one with an 8l90 transmission
