Great for Walking & Cycling too
I needed a watch for hiking & cycling. I am not a runner. This watch is great for all activities. Although aimed for runners it is excellent for walking, hiking & cycling. Not too bulky and light on the wrist. The menu is fully customisable so you can taylor it to your activities. The app is good. The sleep log is fantastic. Long battery time between charging. If use a walk activity so see how far you have gone etc is uses GPS that does use a little more battery but not excessively. It even has elevation reading. I would recommend looking at Garmin's own video to guide you through set up. Then you can taylor it nicely.

Excellent
Had been using one of the better budget fitness bands for years and thought it was okay for tracking steps and recording hikes and squash. Followed a recommendation to switch up to a Garmin as I was completing couch-to-5k and planning to keep running. Had it a month now and can say it is worth every single penny. So much data, very clearly presented, with an excellent companion app. Unless you are (working towards being) an elite runner, the 165 model probably has all the features you will need. Apart from activity tracking and analysis, I have found the sleep data invaluable in helping understand when and why I sleep better/worse and the effect it has on me physically and mentally. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Highly recommend
Perfect, fantastic, highly recommend! Ordered prime day and received same day. Battery life good with 77% left after two full days of use day and night. Good for my running and tracking data, comfy and fits nicely with a clear large screen

Amazing watch!
So far so good. I’m currently training for a half marathon so I got this predominantly for tracking runs/pace but this is also so much more. Detailed stats and breakdowns of all kinds of exercise, sleep analysis, Vo2 max, heart rate. Honestly I love it! Great price on Amazon aswell, it’s around £40 cheaper than the actual Garmin official website. The watch face is touch screen and very responsive. Easy to use.

Surprisingly good
I was hesitant to come back to garmin, I have had electronics in the past from them and nothing has ever worked exactly the way it was advertised. In this case the watch generally does what it needs to do quite well. The battery is lasting better than I thought, I charged it 5 days ago and im on 64% without using any workout features. The sleep monitor has its pants on fire most of the time, I didnt go to bed until 1.30AM and I got up at 7AM and somehow got nearly 9 hours of awesome sleep, this is typical really. I use the watch for running and ive only been on the treadmill but it calibrated really well to within 0.1 or 0.2 miles of what the machine says. Its reasonably comfortable and Id recommend it to someone not wanting a super computer on their arm that lasts about a week.

Great watch
Possibly the best watch I’ve ever owned , it has a 9 to 11 day battery life and gives me running dynamics and stats the Amoled screen is beautiful and is a absolute Win for the price.

Great GPS watch for runners that syncs with SG's Healthy 365 app (steps, mvpa, sleep)
I have been using a G-Shock GBX-100 for a couple of years now to track my runs but I also wanted to track my heart rate at the same time. This watch ticks all the boxes for me. - track steps - accurate distance (GPS) - track heart rate during runs bonus for me - running courses - coaching - resting recommendations - electronic wallet payment via Revolut (the only credit card supported in singapore) - basic navigation ie: direction/distance to a saved location - sync's with Strava and SG's Healthy 365 app - really bright visible day/night - uses standard quick release 20mm straps - charges very quickly via any USB C power source - lots more features as various apps can be downloaded into the watch, eg: compass, maps Charging is via a USB C cable that pokes into some exposed contacts at the back of the watch. The contacts being exposed to sweat/grime, I don't know how corrosion resistant those are. I had a "near" failure where it charged intermittently but fortunately it was resolved by cleaning the contacts.

Stunning watch with amazing battery life!
I’ve been using the Garmin Forerunner 165 for a few weeks now, and it’s honestly one of the best purchases I’ve made for running and daily tracking. The bright touchscreen is gorgeous—super vibrant and easy to read even in direct sunlight, which makes checking stats mid-run a breeze. GPS is spot-on for pace and distance, wrist-based heart rate feels accurate, and I love the adaptive training suggestions and recovery insights that help me avoid overdoing it. Battery life is solid too—easily lasts a full week with regular runs, and up to 11 days in smartwatch mode. Lightweight, comfortable to wear all day, and packed with way more features than I expected at this price point. If you’re getting into running or want a reliable Garmin without breaking the bank, this is it. Highly recommend!
