I put it on food all the time. **Q: does it contain potassium?** A: Yes it contains potassium. The primary reason I use salt substitute is becaue it contains potassium instead of sodium to help control blood pressure. **Q: Does this product contain iodide?** A: No. Seems that most people don't actually need iodide these days, but no. Morton's Lite Salt, however, is half NaCl, half KCl, and is iodized. I bought the Salt Substitute and just mixed it 1:1 with Morton iodized salt, so done. **Q: it says it's a 6 pack but the description says 12 units.
