Easy and Simple For a Cheap Price
This was an amazing capture card. The instructions may seem complicated but they are actually very simple. This is an amazing gift for someone who wants a capture card and it comes at a very cheap price. There is no live streaming but that doesn't really bother me. You will need 2 hdmi cords, (one for the console and one for the monitor which will both connect to the capture card) a usb, a gaming console, and a monitor. It is very simple and easy. I hope your really consider buying this.

Early review is a failure. No external drive recording possible over 128GB thumbdrive. See pics
I bought this specifically to live backup legal recordings via HDMI from my camcorder. I have been able to do so, but only on a 32GB thumb drive. They claimed it could use up to 2TB drives. It under no circumstance can do that. That is false. I have formatted them in full format mode in all manners, none work. If it actually did what they claimed it does it would be great. I have not had any luck with larger thumbs than 32GB. I think this company owes its buyers an explanation as to why they claim said features when they clearly don't work. Please, if you have any actual ideas to make this work, please responds. And yes, my settings are correct etc. But they do not, specify anywhere what issues would prevent these errors. One note, the recordings show up on the ITB ssd as a full file, then disappear after the error message pops up when you connect it to your PC. That I cannot explain either. Their support people only said to me....try a small thumb drive. This is exactly the opposite of what they claim it can do. Also, all metadata is striped from the videos recordings and you cannot pull the date and time code data, they all read 1970 12:00AM, but this may be due to HDMI, but I do not know for sure. it false codes them in either passthrough recording or actual recording from the video camera.

If the price seems too good to be true... it probably is.
I have worked with a similar device, (HD PVR Rocket), which costs about $150. I was hoping that his item would do the job for a third of the costs. Wrong!. The Y&H device produces a Mp4 file which is not playable on Media Player or even VLC. The user is required to download the Y&H software player on to their PC in order to play the finished product. Also the directions were not written well. There's grammar errors a plenty. My opinion: Don't buy this. Spend the $150 on a PVR Rocket which kicks out a non proprietary video file which is compatible with any Video Player.

Easy to use. Record anything that comes through.
Can hook up to anything that has an HDMI port. Runs on a 5V 2A power supply not 12V, can run on a battery pack. Making it so I can use it with external cameras. I Feel like the picture was slightly brighter than original. It could be the way it is processed from the internet. I used VLC for playback, no changes to installation. I recommend finding a video editing program at CNET Downloads.iPad Pro 12" 1st Gen(+ Apple HDMI adapter) and Windows both did not know it was connected when recording movies from WELL KNOWN MOVIE SERVICES online. Now I can save things we may never see again & save money.I do not plan on using mic. No point.

Get an Elgato instead
This product may seem tempting because it's cheap, but i HIGHLY recommend spending more to get an Elgato. This capture card only records 20 minutes at a time, does not record audio if the tv is muted, has a lot of lag in the recordings, slow to start, AND the editing software that comes with it is completely useless because the program can't be installed and the company that manufactured this thing doesn't even support it anymore. Not to mention the fact that most laptops nowadays don't have disc drives so you can't use regardless.

Great if you know how to use it
Awesome product for the money! I did extensive testing and it's great if you know it perks and beware them:- image quality is nice, even for recording movies.- uses VBR, maximum around 16Mbps, for image slideshows around 4Mbps- only takes FAT32 USB! BEWARE, if you insert ExFAT USB, it'll pretend it's recording (red LED lights), but nothing gets actually recorded- it takes all 1080 resolutions (60p, 30p,60i,24p,50i,25p) but CANNOT do 720 (neither 60p nor 30p) and sometimes it'll also pretend it's recording those but nothing gets recorded=> best is to check on your computer that it recorded a short snippet and start the real recording only afterwards

Pretty Good 👍
So far I have not encountered any issues with this unit. It does a good job capturing my Switch gameplay and I only have two negatives which are the captures being cut into several files and the temperature of the box even when just being used as a passthrough HDMI cable hub. The temp is concerning but the files being chopped up into 1.5 to 2 GB files is more of an annoyance. Every time the capture cuts the video has about 5 seconds of visual glitching.

Cannot stream with this. It’s only for recording in real time to a video file.
Good quality. Wish I could stream with it though.
