Maxpedition Gear Steel Cable Lock

Here's the review I left for Burton's POS...Enjoy:I'm not going to waste time talking about how dinky this lock is. It's so bad I put it back in its packaging in less than 10 seconds and got a return label in less than 20.If you want something good for your snowboard, search for Maxpedition's Gear Steel Cable Lock - the thing is BOMB PROOF. It also has a long, coiled cable, which would be harder to cut and looks intimidating. Let's be real, most of these locks on snowboards are intended to be deterrents. But this one is physically difficult to cut because of the coiling and because it's not intended to be a snowboard lock, it's intended to safeguard bikes, gun cases, motorcycles, and luggage. Not to mention, the lock code can be changed as many times as you'd like and the number wheels feel solid when they lock in place. Not like the cheap, burton, kaka where the plastic wheels feel like they're ready to chip off and you have to set the number in the perfect place for the mechanism to acknowledge your code is correct. Definitely a strong lock system. Buttons are cheap feeling and difficult to turn dials. I’m picky, and in the future will look for something with better dials.

Wanted something thicker than the other snowboard locks on the market. This was easy to set up and easy to use. Light weight enough to stay in my pocket till I needed it.

I bought these just for the peace of mind when I leave my snowboard to use the restroom or go get a water break. It's extremely light and thin. I set my password in ten seconds. I tie the bindings to the metal stand, or two boards together to the stand. This is not going to stop someone with wire cutters, but if someone is just going to grab a board and run, they'll either choose another one, or they'll grab mine with my lock and bring the whole stand down.

As soon as I got the lock, I attempted to set the combination over and over and over for 30 minutes. Gave up, came back to it three separate times. Final attempt, I didn't set the combination, but I figured out what it had defaulted to. And, it wasn't 000. The first dial does not stop at 0 and just keeps spinning. Therefore, I cannot reset the password. I just played with it for like 3 minutes and discovered the combination. Maybe the one I have is janky, but wouldn't attempt to buy from the same brand.

I got this to secure a rather expensive backpack during times it might be taken at airports or when thieves smash my car window to get it. It is up to the task. Any decent pair of dikes or a determined wire cutter could disable it but it is super lightweight and will buy me some time. Most likely will stop most thieves without tools. Perfect for my application. Build quality is good.

For what it is, it's decent. As other commenters have mentioned it gives a distinct click when you are on the right digit, so it's easyish to figure the combination out. However I only bought it as a minor deterrent to keep someone from grabbing my items and running. For example at a small theme park you can lock your stroller and keep someone from having a crime of convenience where they just roll off with the unlocked stroller. Having this on it would deter most people that would see an easy opportunity.

This is a cool gadget to have. It is very blokey so if you are all man you will look proper hot using it! It was easy to use which was a relief. I thought it would stretch out longer however I am only planning to use it to secure my belongings down when I am backpacking so this would not be an issue for cableling up suitcases, bags etc. I am sure Christian Gray would love one of these for his red room too 😀

Zum schnell mal den Helm an das Motorrad zu binden perfekt, man darf aber kein Sicherheitsschloss erwarten, aber sonst von der Funktion her ganz gut.

Klar, Profidiebe hält das nicht ab, aber für die kurze und schnelle Sicherung allemal gut.Nutze es ständig im Freien, bisher keine Probleme.

Great product!In case you were wondering like my cynacle mind... you cannot change the combination unless it is already unlocked. I thought o had spotted a huge flaw in the product however they'd already thought of that.Not used them yet as going away travelling but seem fairly sturdy and easy to use.
