I wasn’t expecting much more than basic stickiness, but this tape surprised me. It’s solid, heavy-duty, and once it’s on, it’s not going anywhere. I’ve used it for LED strip lights, securing a dash cam in the car, and even for hanging small decor in the house. No peeling, no sliding, no mess. It’s easy to cut to size, the backing comes off without a fight, and it doesn’t leave residue when removed carefully. Just a heads up—make sure you place it where you want it, because the grip is strong right away. Overall, this 3M double-sided tape does exactly what it claims and saves me from drilling holes or dealing with weak adhesives. Definitely worth keeping around for both home and car projects.

I bought this 3M double-sided tape for 2 projects: 1) to attach metal art to my metal carport, so I wouldn't have to screw holes into the metal wall. The double sided tape immediately held the metal art to the metal wall and several days later, even after 2 days of rain, the metal art is still holding strong. 2) I also used the 3M double-sided tape to reattach the rubber trim on my '07 truck. I used clamps to hold down the lifted edges of rubber trim for 3-4 hrs, just to assure good contact with the 3M tape. It's been several days and it seems to be holding well. The tape is very easy to cut to size with scissors, easy to work with and impressive with how well it sticks two surfaces together. I definitely recommend.

Extra sticky. Used on strip LED. Clean surface 1st with alcohol. No problems whatsoever.

I love how sturdy this 3M VHB heavy-duty tape is when it’s fresh, it holds flawlessly and blends right in, making installations effortless and clean. But after about four months, the adhesion noticeably weakened, and some items started coming loose. Now I know it needs surface prep and curing time to perform best, but buyers should be aware it’s not a permanent, forever solution especially in warm or exposed areas. I still rate it 4 stars because of the excellent initial performance and versatility but you’ll want to treat it like a semi-permanent adhesive, not a lifetime guarantee.

I've used lots of double-sided tapes over the years; this is, hands down, the best I've found for applications that don't require paper-thin tape (i.e don't buy this for internal repairs of your phone or laptop.) This is the only tape I've found that can keep a phone mount stuck to my black dashboard through a Southern California summer; every other brand I've tried goes soft and gummy in the heat. I've used it to stick locators onto the backs of all the TV/video remotes in the house; one of them got run over (it's a long story) and the remote was crushed - but the tape held. If you ever need to separate things you've taped together, it's surprisingly easy and clean; use a razor blade under an edge to get started, and then twist - DO NOT PULL! Cleans off with no residue. I have no idea what witchcraft 3M performed to make this stuff, but it's amazing. If I have one issue, it's that the backing is hard to pull off; it can be a little frustrating to get started, but once it's started it peels off cleanly. Once your two surfaces (e.g. remote and locator) are stuck together, press them together for 30 seconds or so; it seems to increase the strength of the bond significantly.

This is good for under the counter lighting systems and it does not loose grip over time, stays in place.
