This is an excellent scope for birding when you need something small, relatively light, yet still able to pull in distant shorebirds, ducks, etc. Vortex has wonderful, fast customer service.

Ordered this new from this seller. Came with the box being opened. Factory seal sticker was cut. The cardboard cover on the inside didn’t match the product. I hardly doubt that was a vortex mistake. Some dust on the lenses under the caps and a smudge. Something that I wouldn’t really expect from Vortex and ordering new scopes in the past. All that being said it’s a vortex so I’m not worried because it’s backed by the best warranty out there. The scope looks great on a tripod and great image quality. Looking forward to hauling it around the back country with how light it is.

I really like this 13-39x56 spotter. Especially its small size. The one disadvantage I mentioned is that it does not have a way to tilt the thing over like the 65/85mm does - but I figured out a way. Here's how. My ball head has a slit in it so that I can lay it over to 90 degrees. By using that slit I can lay the spotter over on its side and view things if it was set up like the 65/85mm. Works great.

Lightest spotting scoop on the market. Unbelievable views, gets you close enough to make decisions.
