Bottom draining is a nice feature as very little fat if any drains into the gravy. Also will use the bottom draining feature for dispensing batters for cupcakes, pancakes, and any "flowable" liquids quickly and without making a mess.

The device works just fine. However, there is a piece of lint, which is encased in the plastic on the bottom. Seriously. It was apparently in the mold when it was made. It is solidly encased, so it's not like it is dirty...but it drives me nuts.

I was sitting in the living room and heard a loud clatter! So, I went to the kitchen to see what's the matter! The noise was so loud it startled my heart! It took me a minute but across the floor was the part!...I still have yet to locate the handle... If there is a way to update this review I will if it is replaced.I have to get another one because it serves a needed purpose. But I will have to look at other brands of course. :)

Handy grease separator for soup, strainer top catches larges pieces and helps lessen splatter. The gate and opening are somewhat hard to clean and dry, may be improved if that part can be disassembled for cleaning.

I liked the top strainer insert and bottom seal operation . does a nice job on sauce , broth and gravy prep work.

I am returning this. I took it out of the box to show my 11-year-old daughter, for whom I bought this for her love of making pancakes and muffins. I saw the handle was crooked, tried to fix it and the mechanism slit my finger open. I later went to look at it again and put my hand in the wrong spot and nearly slit it again. It’s just not a convenient place for hands and leaves it open for my daughter to injure herself. Other than that, it seems like a cheap, easy to break mechanism. As you can see from my picture, my hand is in the wrong spot. It should be in the small spot pulling on the red handle. But my hand instinctively goes for the bigger slot. As I move the red handle, the mechanism goes crooked. I doubt this will last long. I never return anything but this one I am.

I like it that it can load 4 cups. The bottom liquid dispenser is made from plastic and leaked at first but after giving it a few squeezes it stopped.

Love this thing, it has great materials and works perfectly. I usually make a stock or a broth from whatever leftovers I have so it is perfect for me, saves a lot of time. We are a large family so the capacity is a plus......I haven't had any problems with leaking or anything else and i also was surprised to see it works great as a batter dispenser too, apart from the strainer and fat separator. Would recommend.
