Complete IELTS Bands 6.5-7.5 Student's Book with Answers with CD-ROM

the book is very useful but dost not work with PC computer I used by laptop . it has a huge new vocabulary. also there is some exercises on other CDs, if i want to do this exercises I have to buy them separate . if there include them with the book maybe it is better .

I am very happy that I ordered this book it is very good for getting ready for IELTS exam.. It is not just book but also it includes CD which I am so loving at the moment it has everything there couldn't be more easier Way to get ready for exam.

Many British universities today require a minimum Band 6.5 or 7 score in IELTS, so a course designed to help students reach this level is welcome. The Student Book without answers is principally designed for classroom teaching, and many of its exercises are meant for pairs of students or groups. It is less suitable for individual self-study. The course content includes eight units, each based around one theme. Each unit contains exercises related to the four papers of the IELTS exam, guidance on how best to approach different types of question and exercises on each type. It also contains additional exercises on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation and reference sections on the Writing and Speaking tests and Language (grammar, idioms and a word list).Overall, the book forms a complete IELTS course which should enable ESOL teachers to prepare students with a reasonable level of English to achieve overall scores up to Band 7.5. The units are set out in a progressive manner, so that those starting the course gain and improve their skills and are gradually introduced to more difficult topics as they proceed. The language used in explanations is appropriate, so students with reasonable English should have no difficulty in understanding it, if working by themselves.Apart from its good points there are a few negatives. Although it reasonably well produced and generally well-illustrated, its formatting can be cramped and unhelpful. Reading texts are often split between two non-facing pages which can make it difficult for students to follow and there is sometimes little space for answers. The book is not cheap so it deserves a better lay-out.Apart from these points, this is a useful programme of IELTS study, which should meet its objective of helping students to gain the grades they need. When I have used it with students, their reaction is usually favourable.

Very good book and quality

My book only came with the CD Rom.I have already asked for a replacement as my first delivery didn't even have the CdRom but now as I was going through the exercises I realised that the CD Rom does not contain the listening sections. That means I cannot train for that component with the book I have....Therefore, I would like to know if I must purchase the CDs separately or is my book just missing parts.

I've bought this for my self studies.Its a useful one and easy to understand.

Everything fine

I was excited to receive my book. The actual content looks great but for my opinion more for class studies rather than self education. there is lots of group excercises. This wouldn't bother me so much but the CD that was privided with the book didn't match the content of the book! The CD has a completely different author. Also From the description I understood that 2cds should be provided with this book.I therefore arranged a chat with the Amazon representative who confirmed, yes, book should come with 2 cds. I arranged exchange, only when my second book arrived there was the exact same problem. 1 cd that didn't match the content!!!So i complained again and all Amazon could do was to refund me.This is ridiculous and caused huge inconvenience.Be warned think twice before ordering this.
