Have a box of Kleenex
Oh my GOD!!!! I feel like I need my therapist on speed dial. Seriously! An amazing, heartbreaking, steamy, wonderful cardiac destruction. Such a beautiful book. I can’t believe I won’t walk into a coffee shop and meet Aiden, Ash, Bennett, Xander, Lucky…These men are real. Or there is no Santa.

Best Authors Ive ever read. ( Try the others there just as amazing.)
This story and ones, I've seem Sloane and Lucy wrote have been amazing to read. It felt like characters were real with real emotions. I just couldn't stop reading or put down books the authors wrote. It's so rare to find books like these. That I can read story after story, and not drop or skip a book. Their so beautiful and heart wrenching, but they show real emotions and feeling that people go through. Most of the books I've read in this community have been ones where I can never seem to get interested or hooked on them. Sloane and Lucy reeled me in everytime a book comes out. It's hard to find many that books that write how real relationships are. I usually follows those rare authors, because they always seem to write the best books that pull me in everytime. Most authors in this community I've seen made me drop book, either because they fall love in a span weeks, and married in a few months which real relationships like that will never end in a good way.Sometimes the authors did something that never felt right and wouldn't settle well with me. Or the couple will fight once and make up.The stories I've read so far by Sloane and Lucy had been beautiful and felt real. There may be heart wrenching parts and emotional parts, but the ending is always beautiful and worth it.Relationships are hard, every couple will have arguments. You could be afraid of what your feeling. You may be scared what they would think of you. Every couple struggles with communication and sometimes they don't tell how they truly feel, because they could be so scared. Commuincationn Is important, because if you don't communicate you may yourselves farther apart in the process. The characters in book struggled they felt real, because it's always very hard to tell those close to you what you feel for them and your afraid you could lose them in the process. Ever person is scared it's human nature. If your ever been in a relationship communication it is the most importanttant thing in the a relationship. Tell them how you feel, but don't put the blame or hurt them with words. It may be hard every person is afraid for losing those they love. In the end your relationship may become stronger as you start to understand each other better. If they don't love you for who truly are then that person was never worth it. You deserve better than that find someone that truly loves you who you are and don't let go.Sorry if I went off topic, but the emotional stories I've read so far made me want to help those people that struggle.

Absolute must read! One of the best ones yet! :D
Warning: read this book under doctor supervision! Your heart will be stolen. It will be broken. Mended. Broken some more. But ultimately mended and filled to bursting. Further side effects include, but are not limited to, laughing at nerdy banter, uncontrollable goofy grins during heartwarming tender moments, a newfound love of poetry, ugly crying, desperately wanting to hug the hurt out of two very sexy adorable men, a need for a new box of tissues, and possibly counseling to help you deal with the emotional roller-coaster and then subsequent book hangover. This book...If authors truly do live on the tears and heartbreak of their readers, then I think it's safe to say these two ladies are well fed! This book is definitely on the list of my favorite books ever. I just don't know how I'm going to tell my husband that it's over because my heart now belongs to two fictional gay men! :D I just couldn't help falling in love with Ash and Aiden. They're funny, sweet, sexy, nerdy, with that bit of broken that makes you want to see them healed, happy and loved. And that cover! Holy wow. It's a beautiful cover but once you've read their story it has such an amazing impact. This book can be read without having read the first, but you should really read that one too, because it's all kinds of awesome itself! and Xander, Bennett and Lucky make some appearances in this one. But again, it's not actually necessary you'll just be missing out on another great read. I think it's obvious, but I absolutely recommend reading Safe and Sound, and if you enjoy it even half as much as I did then you're still going to love it!Would I re-read? Absolutely! Over and Over. But remember, this isn't a lighthearted fun read. But when I want to feel deeply, when I want to really be in love, when I want a well deserved HEA then I'll be reading Safe and Sound. Was it worth the money to me? I received a free advanced copy but still paid full price for it as soon as it was out.Did I fall in love? Oh my poor heart, yes! Were there moments sweet/sexy/funny/daydream inducing that I still think about? Yes, and I've been waiting anxiously for a week to post this review because everyone needs to read this :D

Book one was eh but this was everything.
I had held off for months to read this next book in the series. I found this team up because I love one of the authors but was only halfway into liking the first Twist of Fate book. But I was in a mood for a good domestic violence hurt/comfort romance. I read a few before this one but they didn’t give me the good agents I wanted. Not spiteful ugly angst but good drama. I devoured this book in a day. I love poor Ash who was a heart Transplant recipient beholden to a man who hid him away and beat him. And just as he began his fight to leave he met beautifully broken Aiden. Aiden who lost someone he loved so tragically and was so deeply broken he saw Ash immediately as his equal. They were broken together and fought to heal one another. I LOVED this book. It has it all. Deep love, heartfelt emotion, tragic tear jerking moments, and an evil man trying to tear them apart. Epic. I love a good damsel/ hero romance and this had that in spades.

Ash & Aiden
Aiden went very well noticed during book 1 and the way he tried very hard to set Xander and Benny together and he even brought some lightness to their drama. But even than, we could spot the sadness, loneliness and self loathing uncovered by the shallowness and the way he dealt with life.We could see he was a very nice, faithful, fierce and gentle friend, but we could also clearly spot his tormented soul.I was very anxious to read his love story, but even prepared to have a good and careful look at Aiden, this second book was a surprise. This book, different than many of these two authors’ previous plots I read, was extremely serious and even heavy.Time to talk about our adorable Ash.Ash, even managing to keep his soul light and sweet, suffered two some of most extreme and unbearable sadness and heartbreaking situations during his still very short and young life. This book was extremely well written, it’s a deadly serious remark when it brings organs transplants, organ donations, heavy losses in general, but mostly when it brings to light the Domestic Violence and its nasty consequences.Again, it’s a heavy, sometimes even graphic, but it’s necessary to bring this subject to light, without warm excuses or half truths, it exposes all the nastinesses and darkness attached to the subject. It’s even fearless the way these two authors went deep into the darkest psychological consequences of this terrible social problem, specially when it remains kept uncovered by four home walls and hidden from the spotlight of the truth.Thumbs up and hands down one of the best books I read this past year.

Enjoyed it
I loved Aiden's story and the complexity behind his trauma, and after book 1, I'm surprised he is one of my favorite characters in the series (I hated him in book 1 lol). But I am disappointed by the authors' choice in how they dealt with "the Billy situation". They basically asked a biphobic to out him in the media and that was it? That's his punishment for all the abuse and violence he inflicted on others? I didn't like it, he should have been arrested, this is fiction and we should get a bit of justice in it.

Adorei!
Ai meu Deus eu adorei. O primeiro da série eu achei meio fraquinho, mas esse quase me fez chorar. Muito boa a história, perfeito para quem gosta de romances M/M. Espero que o próximo da série seja tão bom quanto

hope and love. Aiden is a self proclaimed playboy
Heartbreaking story of helplessness, loss, hope and love.Aiden is a self proclaimed playboy. Never sharing his bed with the same person, he hides behind his work and keeps himself busy running a PR company with his brother. He doesn't want to think about his past that he has tried so hard to lock it up tight. His best friend Bennett recently had a lucky escape but it's brought all of Aiden's fears to the surface in the form of nightmares. Not sleeping well Aiden visits his favorite coffee shop where he finds a journal left on a table. He sneaks a peek inside and what he finds is like reading his own fears and sadness. He has a connection to this person and wished he knew who it was.Ash is trapped in an abusive relationship. He feels he has no way out, he has no money to escape as his boyfriend basically keeps him locked away only giving him an allowance and making him need him. After recovering 4 years ago from a life threatening operation he's still scared. His life has turned into something he feels is not worth living for. The only things he has worth anything to him is a journal and a guitar his parents gave him.A job offer has Ash seeing a way out. He's desperate to be independent and never rely on anyone again for anything. After meeting Aiden on the first day of his new job, Ash feels something he shouldn't. He never wants to rely on anyone again for anything so he refuses to fall again for anyone. He's wants to make it on his own.Aiden's past gives him an overly protective nature. He can't help it and when he meets the timid gorgeous Ash he want's to protect him from all his troubles. But in trying to help Ash his past comes crashing down on him. He finds he can't cope with the guilt and it spills over into his life again. This book is so heartbreaking. The very serious issues contained in it absolutely broke my heart. Both Ash and Aiden have very real problems that were handled with great sensitivity in the writing. It's not glamorized in any way and you will feel that right in your heart. It actually made me hurt for people that are really going through this stuff.Poor Aiden put on a great front but there is only so much someone can take mentally and when he breaks... OMG tears flowed for him. He always seemed so strong. I thought Ash would be the weaker one but he has to be strong when Aiden needs him and i think that actually helps Ash.The things Ash goes through again breaks your heart but his strength is absolutely amazing. I loved his independence even if drove me a little crazy at times i greatly admired him. His kindness even after everything is pantymelting!Ash and Aiden together were sweet and beautiful. Broken souls brought together to mend. Their love was off the charts. There are some glimpses of Xavier and Bennett in here which made me very happy! I love the family they made which is now being added to with Ash and Aiden. Lucky who was adopted by them is coming into his own and i love seeing him gain the confidence he should always have had. I'm hoping down the line he gets his own story.Fantastic angsty story that will have you in tears, that will make you feel their pain and hopelessness and then when you're not sure you take any more you will feel their hope. You will be shouting at your kindle for them to make it. You will fall in love and by the end you will be smiling big and cheering!Loving this series already and i'm desperate for the next book. These authors are fast becoming a fave of mine. The way they play my emotions with their words is amazing!5 hopeful stars!!

sweet and emotional
This was a beautiful but turbulent love story. I adored both of the main characters and the way their relationship built. As a victim of past DV I felt the subject was handled really well, and realistically.I just missed some surrounding characters. I guess I just wanted yhe ‘family’ aspect in Sloan Kennedy’s other books, but I still very much enjoyed this one,
