Curb Your Enthusiasm: Season 9 (DVD)

Good entertainment for those who can find humor in liberal viewpoints.

This show can do no wrong. When I first watched this on HBO I really enjoyed it, but when I bought the season and watched it again it was even better! I've watched it several times now. Highly recommended if you enjoy R-rated Seinfeld type humor. Top Notch!

I liked everything about it, he has the guy who wrote the play, Hamilton being really petty and hilarious and the episode with Elizabeth Banks is possibly the funniest episode ever.

One of my favorite shows, and the only one where I have collected every season on DVD. Curb your Enthusiasm is basically Seinfeld but rated R.

Larry David is hilarious, but his humor is predictable at this point. Further, he is regularly dating implausible women. That is nothing new in the histories of Curb Your Enthusiasm ("CYE") and of Seinfeld. At least, Larry David is playing himself and he is a billionaire. It is way more plausible that he would date a beautiful and much younger woman than the women George Costanza dated. In real life, I would expect to see Larry David dating someone similar to an older version of the character Susie Greene. I would expect to see Larry's wife regularly berating him and being terribly frustrated with him in a way that is similar to the relationship between the characters Susie and Jeff on CYE. Now that would be entertaining to see him with a more realistic woman like Susie Greene.

So Larry David is back after a 6 year hiatus and is up to his usual hi-jinks. The season centers around a "fatwa" placed on him by the Supreme Leader of Iran while promoting his upcoming comedy musical "Fatwa!" based on Salman Rushdie's life. It's completely ridiculous but sets up some hilarious moments and encounters for L.D. and many of his classic cohorts (Jeff, Leon, Suzie, Funkhouser, Lewis etc) to deal with. I wouldn't call it the best season of Curb ever, but it stands up and has some absolutely classic moments, episodes like "The Pickle Gambit" and "Running with the Bulls" are pretty hilarious. I watched it as it aired on HBO and am happy to add Season 9 to my collection. If you like L.D./Curb this season is a must buy, if you're not a fan or don't care either way, I feel like you may have to ask yourself... "Why am I here?". Larry tentatively accepting a business card: “I’ll put your card in my pocket. I will never call you, but I’ll put it in my pocket.” Classic Larry.

I could watch these over and over. I have all 9 seasons. Waiting patiently for season 10.

After a long hiatus, larry is back ! A lot of funny stuff, Larry is a genius. After all these years, im still laughing with this great show, recommended
