Inspirational story!
I am beyond impressed and touched by this authentic and collaborative story. The authors share their honest struggles and joys, and I think it is so relatable to families of all walks of life but especially within the special needs community. Thank you, Jay and Kimberley, for sharing from the heart and for inspiring everyone who knows you and who reads your book!

A truly uplifting story
I couldn't put this book down. It is hard to believe that Jay wrote this by clicking a switch with his head! I get frustrated when my mouse doesn't click fast enough. I liked how Jay's mom told her version and Jay told his. I was rooting for Jay the whole book and it broke my heart to read all he went through. If you need encouragement or if you feel like you can't make it through a tough time in your life, this book will lift you up and give you hope.

Frank, honest, and a page turner
Facebook notified me that I had an invite to follow the page of the same name. I looked over the Facebook page–a guy born with cerebral palsy, confined to a wheelchair, graduated from college, and helped write his story. I was hooked. I liked and followed the page, then ordered my copy of the book. I read the whole thing in about 6 days.Jay and his mom Kimmy have a knack from storytelling, because this is a page turner. Near-death experience. Surprise. Adventure. Disappointment. Doing schoolwork when you can’t hold a crayon. Making friends when you can’t speak. Their story is frank and honest, so if you are easily offended by language or are squeamish about bodily fluids and functions, you might want to read something else. If, however, you are ready to have your eyes opened to the world of the disabled, I recommend you read this book. If you want to be inspired by someone who has faced serious hardships, read this book. If you are interested in getting more involved in the world of the disabled and their families, read this book.I bought this book and this is my honest and unbiased review.

Must Read
This was such a good read. As a disabled person growing up around the same time, I know how tight a mother can be with a child that they also must navigate the medical system and school system with. I loved hearing both of their prospective. My only complaint is I need a part two to the book. What happened after college? Also, it should be professionally published so it can get into more hands.

Inspirational
I loved the book and how candid the writers were in telling their story. As a mom to a special needs adult, I found inspiration in Kimmy’s perseverance and dedication to find resources to assist her son live out his dreams and break down barriers. Jay tells about his life, including the highs and lows that came along the way, with wonderful detail. He is a gifted writer with an extraordinary story.

Love this book
I met Kimmy and Jay in 1984. Jay won’t remember me as he was just a toddler at the time. What an inspiring book. I recommend this book to anyone needing inspiration to press on with their dreams.
