As the Beatles' perpetual dark horse, Harrison rarely got the chance to write and sing more than one or two songs per album. But once the band split up, the former "quiet one" was quick out of the gate with a series of memorable hit singles that seamlessly merged his budding spirituality and an epic, Phil Spector-inspired pop sensibility. This collection, originally released in 1976, combines seven of Harrison's best-known Beatles numbers, including "Something", "If I Needed Someone", "Here Comes the Sun", and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with a half-dozen early solo hits including "My Sweet Lord", "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)", "You" and "What Is Life". My research has been fabulous, listening to tracks, artists, arrangements and live gigs I'd almost forgotten ... then came the job of filling those gaps. "The Best Of George Harrison" filled the gaps my Beatle collection didn't cover sufficiently ... there are some truly excellent tracks that I believe people have largely forgotten ( radio stations certainly have )and because he is no longer with us, we don't get the chance to go to his solo gigs anymore. It's a great shame, because in my view he was up there with John and Paul in terms of respect for his talent. George's work with The Traveling Wilburys is classic - I'll review that part of his life / "The Traveling Wiburys" Album elsewhere. More Lovely Memories ... I think George deserved more than being the third Beatle
I've just retired. I have run a music business in the past and now for the first time for so many years, I have begun to catalogue and programme from my vinyl, cassette and CD collections. Good selection but low volume recording
When listening to my cd's i never have the volume dial on my Project amp above 7 o clock position , on some older cd's i turn them up to 8 beause of how they were recorded , on this cd i have volume just above 9. When you have listening to this cd dont forget to turn volume back down before you play something else or your speakers will deafen you.

Great stuff
Great to hear the singles all together on one CD you tend to forget just how over shadowed he was by the other two, no disrespect to Ringo. A brilliant writer and performer

Bought for a present. Recipient pleased with it. Case was damaged in the post not sure if it came a long way from abroad though as took a while.

Great Music
George was never the most prolific of composers but when he did write a song it was usually brilliant, this collection is generally from his earlier albums along with a couple of tracks from a quartet called the Beatles.

The best of George, all on one CD. "My Sweet Lord" is my favourite :) "For You Blue" is my wife's. ~~Because you're sweet and lovely, girl - I love you. I love you at the moment I feel blue. I love you every morning girl, I do~~ Great stuff, from the master musician, the Beatles' lead guitarist. ~~Mmm, my sweet Lord, oh my Lord - I really wanna see You, Really wanna be with You, Really wanna know You, Lord - But it takes so long, my Lord. (Hallelujah; Hare Rama) ~~ Beautiful. Hare Krishna!

ジョージの個人史であり、彼のベスト・アルバム！
このベスト・アルバムは本当に素晴らしいアルバムです。 ビートルズ時代から、ダークホースまでの時代のヒット曲を全て収めたアルバムです。 前半は、ビートルズ時代、アルバムに一曲づつくらい納められていたジョージの曲、後半は、マイ・スイート・ロードからダーク・ホースまで大ヒット曲ばかりです。ジョージの個人史のような構成になっていて、音楽の変遷（成長といってよいかもしれない）がとても良く分かります。そうはいっても、いい曲ばっかりだが・・。 ジョージは、アルバム作りの長編作家の面が強いですが、ヒット・メーカーとしても素晴らしいミュージシャンだと思います。 ジョージのベスト・アルバムです。
