Systems Analysis and Design
C**.
The book is very nsightful. It teaches you the fundamentals of how to be a Systems Analyst.
The book gives you a good overview of what you need to know to be an analyst. It goes through the various diagrams and techniques currently used by IT professionals. The book uses real world examples of how businesses are trying to apply information systems to enhance business processes.

Good for a contemporary IT text
The authors appear to make an attempt to thoughtfully include the latest information in the new editions while maintaining a smooth educational material flow. The focus of the text remains as touching on a plethora of systems analysis related concepts. However, I believe how all of these concepts truly fit together in a cohesive body of knowledge is ultimately left to reader to assemble. The illustrations, figures, and tables are also excellent in the Kindle version.

Good foundation
One of the few college books I continue to reference. If you have never designed a system or process this a great management introduction.

This book is good for beginners
This book is good for beginners. By beginner I mean new to IT period. It introduces numerous basic concepts to build some sort of foundation. I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for something highly advanced. But definitely if you're new to system analysis and design its a good read. I have actually referred back to it as well.

Highly recommend.
This book was required for a college class I was taking. I never actually read any of it, but I was surprised to find that I could sell it back to the Barnes and Noble on campus for almost three times higher than I bought it for. I religiously bought this book every semester and sold it back to the bookstore until I graduated.I didn't pass the class, but my whiskey was basically free for the rest of my college career. Highly recommend.

Kendalls are phoning it in.
Old fashioned: That's what I'd call it.How can apps and mobile device issues receive such little attention in your book? This achingly new (and unbelievably expensive) edition disappointed me. It doesn't address recent developments in Systems Analysis and Design. The Case Studies are hilariously out of date and the context is so American-centric, I felt embarrassed sitting in the middle of a group of Indian and Chinese colleagues. Clearly the Kendalls haven't developed anything for a while. When I mentioned some of these issues in class, my professor said, "Well, they are old, you know?" yeah. I'm old too, but good grief!!!I don't intend to be mean, but I'm so disappointed I must plead with professors to find a textbook with more contemporary perspectives. it's not that we can't learn anything from this book... of course we can! But the book barely skims or completely misses many of the things that will actually get us jobs.

A Useful Book
This is not the latest edition but it is good for global studies. Also, Pearson now have a new method of publishing with on-line fees for a limited period, this is not good so this book is probably the optimum option.
