Comfortable to Wear, Quick to Put On
I've been wearing these over the last seven days including three work days in a row. Overall, the fit was good for my feet (size 11-1/2 Medium - I ordered the size 12) and has not caused blisters or abrasions. What I like:While it is not unusual to have to break in a new pair of boots, I found that unnecessary with these. The boots look good. Stitching and construction are good quality. I will need 6 to 12 months of experience before I can comment on durability. The boots also come with a separate foam insert in case they are too loose. I found that I didn't need the insert, and, in fact, found the boots were too tight for my feet when I installed the inserts. Your experience may differ, so, the inserts come in the package and are there should you need them.Other observations:When I first looked at the boots before ordering, for some reason, I thought they had a zipper closure. They don't. There are wide elastic sections on the sides that allow you to push your foot in to get started and then pull them on with loops sewn into the back at the top. This does work, but the feel after putting them on is certainly different than the traditional lace-up boots - more like cowboy boots. Once you have them on, the top is relatively loose. I have no difficulty inserting two fingers in the space above my ankle. This may be an issue if you're walking over rough , uneven surfaces because of the lack of ankle support that you would find with medium or high rise lace up boots. Thus far, I have not been walking in those conditions. I am presently doing inspection work on a building renovation job site where the walking surfaces are paved. The loose top does rub against my legs above the ankles at the top edge where it moves back and forth. My skin becomes sensitive after a full day. However, upon removing the boots at the end of the day, I found no abrasions or lingering discomfort. I wear these with standard weight white crew socks. Heavier socks may mitigate the effect, but as I said, I experienced no apparent abrasion or blisters from it. Since the boots are still new, this rubbing may disappear as the leather softens from use.The boots are definitely faster to put on than the lace up medium rise boots. For many jobs, the boots should work as well as a low rise work boot. The other advantage is that you can remove them without unlacing or bending over. But if you need a lot of ankle support, a lace up medium or high rise boot would be better.I find with work boots, I tend to be rough on them. Past experience with other brands has been varied. In some cases, I experienced separation of the sole, and wear through of the leather above the steel toe due to sometimes working on my hands and knees, for example doing flooring or roofing work.UPDATE: After wearing these boots another week, the discomfort from the top edge of the boots has disappeared. They just needed a little break-in time.

I really want to love these boots, and I almost do, but...
I wore these boots for a long three-day weekend at my rural home, and put them through a lot of use. I can say there are a lot of things to like about these boots. I like the color. I like the style. I like that they are slip-on. I like the water resistance, and they are water resistant. I like the feel on my feet. I like that they are not aggressive from heel to toe. I like the grip on the ground, which gives me a sense of stable traction. I really like they are American made. There are some over-applications of glue at some areas where the leather meets the sole, but that is hardly noticeable, and not a concern for me. And these boots held up just great. No issues with snow, cold, traction, ankle stability, etc.I do have one concern, however, and it goes back to quality control, which is a big concern. The foot bed in one of the boots is not even. More specifically, when I stand static in the boot I can feel that the foot bed on the outside of the sole, in essence the back outside "corner," is not even. It feels great on the right boot, but on the left it feels as if there is material missing from the sole. It's enough that I will not be able to wear the boots. Please note I do have a very keen understanding and awareness of my gait, my pronation / supination tendencies, foot fall, dorsi-flexion and plantar flexion, etc. I have a neutral gait, with a slight tendency to roll out onto the outer edge of my right foot when standing still. With my left foot, which is where I feel the boot deficiency, I have a neutral stance with no rolling tendencies. It is certainly possible I got a bad shoe, and that the shoe I received is not indicative of the typical quality one can expect from Sureway. I am hoping that is the case. After all, the right boot feels great! If I purchased these boots I would be returning them and requesting replacements. But as I am asked to review these boots, I have to review what was sent to me. Hopefully, this boot was just an anomaly, and that Sureway's products are truly reflective of American quality. Thank you for reading my review.
