Bright enough as a torch on the lower setting. Useable as a lantern to let you see what is around you and on the higher setting enough to allow you to use a keyboard (possibly even read if your eyes are better than mine).Not too heavy. I have taken to clipping mine to a key lanyard and hanging it round my neck so I can carry the torch, see where I am going, and be hands free.Only had it a few days but battery life seems good. Much better than my previous wind-up torch.Only issue so far is that the micro USB plug on the supplied charging cord does not fit into the corresponding socket on the torch as the socket and casing seem to obstruct it. However another USB charging cable from another device fits perfectly so this is not a significant problem for me. If, however, you do not have any other micro USB cables, be aware of this.Seems solid and reasonable quality. Not sure whether the concertina plastic of the lantern will split after longer use. I will update review in a few months.Very happy so far and am about to buy another for my wife

I like to have one of these for when you wake up middle of the night in a power cut or the main lights fuse trips at night when a bulb blows and you have to clamber to the fuse box in the garage in the dark.This is an excellent little handy friend. OK, it's not heavy duty but it will do me, sitting on my bedside table, taking up very little space, no more than a mug's width and puts out a very handy amount of light even when you've just wound it up a couple of turns - fully powered it's well bright - and being able to charge my phone with the USB port is the cherry on the cake! A great price, well pleased with it, excellent value! :-)

This is a handy light to have in an emergency.......I purchased in case there was a power cut. The hand crank handle means that you do not actually require electricity in order to have light. Once the inbuilt battery has depleted, turn the crank handle for about a minute and you have light, so this feature is definitely a plus for me. I did find opening the lantern was quite stiff at first, but that is now easier now that I've opened the lantern a few times. Not sure how robust the concertina lantern will be after many uses, and I guess only time will answer that question. I'm also not sure how robust the crank handle will be after many rotations.....again only time will answer that question. Really ought to have a usb C socket instead of micro usb. All gadgets these days come with usb C, so the lantern is rather outdated in that respect. Hopefully the production of a newer model is in the pipeline. Unfortunately, I couldn't charge my phone, so that option doesn't appear to be working on the light that I received. I tried cranking the handle at various different speeds, but nothing happened on my phone.......hence the reason for only giving a 4* review. The light on low is about the same as a night light, but on the higher setting that does give off plenty of light to enable you to read a book and see where you're going in the dark. Though won't light a huge room the same as a light bulb. All in all I'm happy with the light, but disappointed that I'm unable to charge my phone in an emergency.

Great little light, I take it hiking, camping and fishing, and the ability to be able to wind it up if and when required if it does go out is brilliant.It give of good 360 degree light and two settings which are more than bright enough for any use I could think off.Nice little handle that clicks down when not in use, can be used to hang or carry it, plastic is strong but would not want to be throwing it around , you can pull up the light to what hight you require which allows you do dim the light further if you just want a soft light.

Awesome bit of kit. So useful, as its small enough (good fit for an average sized male hand) I keep it in a side pocket of my bag and its my everyday torch but if I ever need to do anything fiddly such as put the chain back on the bike or find somthing in the cupboard under the stairs I just concentina it out and its the perfect lamp.The ability to wind it up was a major attraction and this seems to be pretty ecanomical in its consumption given how bright it is. I would defonetly recomend esspecislly to campers, cycelists and handyfolk. My ownly concern is how long the plastic of the bellows will last with use but for now very happy.

first things first I think this product is an excellent lamp and okay torch, it has a fold out handle allowing it to be hung onto hooks, and after charging it to full the day I got it a few weeks ago I've been using it as a desk lamp regularly, but have not managed to flatten the 300 MAh battery yet, the low power use makes me thing using the dynamo to charge the light is a very economical optionhowever, to charge a smartphone it will not take power from the battery, instead to use this device to charge a phone on a the 5v 3a standard you would need to spin the dynamo at a whopping speed of 3 (three) times a SECOND, this could be okay if it was remotely possible to maintain that speed instead of hitting it momentarily on and off.the off center position of the dynamo and small handle make it very difficult to make a smartphone accept power from this thing because of the inherent instability introduced with this designif I had to fix this product all I would need to do is have the dynamo directly charge the battery, and have the USB out draw power right from the battery, so that you can charge your phone in an emergency without worrying about getting up to ludicrous speeds, or i would simply put a stronger dynamo at the end of the crank, so that it could be charged by turning it at a more reasonable speed and you wouldn't waste so much energy trying to get this to spin at 3 full cycles per second and wasting any power you generate at even 2.9 cycles/soverall as a lamp? 5*as an emergency phone charger? 1* (for making an attempt)

We like to sit out in the evening and was looking for a lantern for the table, gives two levels of light for each use, good strong light when on full power torch and gentle light when on low level on lantern.Good that doesn’t need batteries and can charge through USB, hopefully will get a lot of use from it.

WIr haben die Laterne bei Freunden gesehen und ich war sofort begeistert. Ich habe sie für unsere kleine Tochter, auch als Nachtlicht gekauft, super Gimmik das man sie über die Kurbel aufladen kann, sie hat 3 verschiedene Lichtstärken und bietet sich als Taschenlampe und als Laterne an. WIrklich Cooles Gadget!

la verdad es que no pensaba que me iba a gustar tanto, es muy útil y da mucha luz, trae para recargar el móvil también, con lo que la utilidad es bastante amplia. Recomendable.

Prima lampje, geeft op helderste stand ruim genoeg ligt. Echter is de brandtijd wel een stuk korter dan verwacht. Na twee avonden een uurtje lezen en de lamp is wel echt leeg.

Cela faisait longtemps que je cherchais une lampe d'appoint à recharger via une dynamo. Celle ci va encore plus loin car elle se recharge aussi par USB.Cette lampe présente 3 avantages qui en font pour moi une lampe idéale pour mes besoins :1-elle se recharge par dynamo : en cas de coupure d'électricité ( de plus en plus fréquentes dans le pays non ? ), aucun problème, cette lampe est utilisables des heures durant, et quand elle est vide, un petit peu d'effort pour la recharger à la main !2-elle est pliable, ne prend donc pas de place et peu être rangée facilement dans un tiroir ou un vide-poche de voiture ( je vais d'ailleurs en racheter une pour ma voiture )3-elle fait aussi office de lampe de poche quand elle est repliée ( par le dessus, voir photo )Au vu de son prix, c'est un investissement faible et qui peu rendre de nombreux servicesTrès satisfait de cette lampe !

È la seconda che compro, la prima mi ha abbandonato dopo qualche anno.Per chi va in barca od in campeggio, funge come lanterna e come torcia. Basta una ricarica manuale di tanto in tanto per avere tanta luce in più.Non ultimo, in caso di emergenza permette di ricaricare (con la sua piccola batteria interna ricaricabile o a manovella) il telefono o la radio o ciò che si vuole (via cavo USB).Infine, è piccola e leggera.Per me è un oggetto della massima utilità.
