These are a very nice alternative to having arms full of scratches and being weathered due to the sun while still being able to tend your garden or orchard.For a long time - scratches or sun burn seemed to be 'badges' of tending gardens and orchards. It typically went unasked and unsaid that those things came with the upkeep.These are a very easy way to reduce (if not eliminate) those 'badges' of honor in tending those places. These are comfortable enough to wear in all but the hottest of days (when you shouldn't be in the sun anyway). They slide on reasonably easy and are a little tight near the top. They need to be tight there to keep from falling down. Along the arm, they are snug without being constricting. The thumb hole/loop keeps the end of the sleeve in place and fit under gloves that would cover your hands during the gardent/orchard duties.I don't know about them being a fashion statement outside of the garden but they will keep your arms looking fresher and scratch free -- which is why they earn a 5 star rating.
