Electro-Harmonix 12AX7, Balanced Triodes

Had this amp for over ten years and was getting distorted and fading at times. found this tube and replaced it, very easy to do, pull old one, insert new one. Really brought the amp to life, been playing, building and remodeling guitars for over 50 years. What different little things make, change plastic nut/bridge to bone, use quality strings, tuners can change your instrument to a much-improved sound? great price and fast shipping. good for another ten years. If you have a tube amp for some time, find a tube for it, you will hear the difference.

My TSP II pre-amp was generating a hissing sound when being used for recording. I purchased this tube to see if the hissing could be rectified. Replacing the tube with this electro-harmonex solved the problem. Excellent product.

This tube is an outstanding preamp tube. I've been through several brands, and many different tubes. I've tried Mullard, Tung-Sol, Mesa-boogie, etc.... I needed another preamp tube because I was down to having just the one that was in the amp. I'm very happy I chose this tube. I'm not sure if its the balanced triodes, or because its Electro-Harmonics, or maybe a combo of both, but my amp has never sounded better. I have an old Marshall and it always tends to sound a little muddy and dark when turning the drive up. This new tube maintains the good characteristics of the amp that I like, plus it seemed to brighten the overdrive a little to where its definitely noticeable. I will be buying a few more of these to keep in stock. The seller gets an A+ for getting to me so quickly, and it was packaged very well.

Tested both sides and they match up - installed into preamp and it's working perfectly - no additional noise on signal. Still waiting for the break-in period but looking good so far.

I love EH tubes for their clarity. There is something special about their high end that isn't chimey, but just smooth and rounded. The clarity across the full spectrum of the strings is really second to none. Believe or not, I just these a lot in the Phase Inverter slot with great success. Give them a try, for the price, you can't beat the sound.

These sound alright, my reason for buying was to try and smooth out some harsh preamp distortion in a couple of guitar amps and i ended up going with a pair of Mullard tubes as these sound (to me) just as harsh as the stock tubes.

Solid! Bought for my Behringer VT999 pedal, really took the time to the next level. Sounds so good.
