Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 - WiFi & Matter Smart Switch Relay, 1 Channel, 8A, Home Automation, Dry Contacts, Garage Door Remote Control, Compact Size, Alexa and Google Home, iOS & Android App, No Hub Required

I use a lot of Shelly relays and always have. These new Gen3 relays are fantastic bits of kit. As the world is getting smarter especially with smart home technology I have customers always asking me if there’s a way they can switch something by WiFi or a way to make Alexa turn they’re outside lights on etc. with Shelly relays the possibilities are pretty much endless for me as an electrician. Customers love them and they’re a breeze to install and setup. The WiFi connectivity works extremely well however if you’re hiding them in a backbox, junction box or in a loft etc anywhere that’s quite out the way from the customers WiFi you may need extenders / access points to ensure a good solid connection.

Incredible little device. I used it to turn a non smart EV charger into something that can be scheduled to come on during my cheap charging tariff. It's easy to set up, in my case I've set a schedule and I don't need to access it directly unless I need to turn it on to charge outside those hours. You need to know what you're doing and it's NOT for the high voltage lines, just the low voltage communication ("car is connected") line. Plenty on the internet if you plan to do the same but if you don't know what you're doing, DON'T DO IT!

Does exactly what it says, easy to setup and once setup in the shelly app, after you have created an account, download the skill into Alexa and hey presto!! Very compact, I wondered if they would actually work since the wall light is all metal and effectively due to the metal back box the shelly was mounted inside a metal cage but it still works great.

This fitted what I wanted to a tee.... A tiny little box that is so small, when installing I dropped it and it fell behind the radiator and I had fun trying to retrieve it. This is my second Shelly device and I think it's great. I like their app and the integration with Home Assistant. The downsides. I don't understand why there are so many terminals for such a small device. You need to add a Live to the unit, then a separate Live that will power your devices and then a third live that is used for the switch line. This meant that I had 3 Wago boxes in the tiny light blackbox. I understand this when it's in a pro unit that goes into your consumer unit but maybe not for a single bulb and switch. HomeKit support could be better from Shelly although it seems some devices are now getting supported with Matter. Overall a great device that worked first time and is so small it fitted into my back box, even with 3 Wago junction boxes in there!

I started with using Sonoff smart switches but they would lose the Wi-fi and need to be paired again. I came across Shelly and replaced the Sonoff switches and delighted that I did so. No issues encountered. The Shelly app also for easy firmware upgrades of the smart switches. Shelly app is linked to Smartthings to allow control of the smart switches also. I've bought other Shelly devices (water sensor) and found it good also. Will stick to Shelly for future purchases.

Genius bit of kit. If you're into automating your home and can do a bit of wiring, then these Shelly 1 Minis are absolutely superb. I'm using Home Assistant, so these Shelly devices are fully integrated into my home. I got them up and running in no time at all. I'm a little bit sceptical of the claim that they can fit behind any switch or socket, but if you've got a reasonably deep back box, it should be ok. So far, they've been solidly reliable, with great connectivity and no drop outs. I'm just waiting for my Shelly Uni Plus to arrive now, so that I can integrate my old analogue burglar alarm into my IoT smart home.

Small, simple to wire and automates lights quite simply! As a non-electrician I found it quite simple to wire behind my outdoor lights. The instructions weren’t so great so went on the internet to find how to ho the light up when I didn’t want it to connect to a standard light switch. Once wired correctly the app quickly identifies it and can connects it. The user interface of the app is not straightforward but can be figured out. I just can’t believe something of this size does all of that wirelessly without an additional hub like Hive needs.

Worked a treat turning our outdoor Christmas decorations on and off by using Alexa. Easy to connect to home wifi network, works in low temperatures, so okay to install in outdoor electrical enclosure in range of house wifi. Only downside instructions not quite clear on wiring up the cables to the correct terminals. Had to seek further diagrams online.

Ich habe den Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 inzwischen mehrfach im Einsatz – vor allem zur Nachrüstung klassischer Lichtschalter – und bin begeistert! Wegen seiner extrem kompakten Bauform passt er problemlos in tiefe und sogar einige flache Unterputzdosen. Die Installation war unkompliziert, und dank der übersichtlichen Web-Oberfläche ist auch die Einrichtung schnell erledigt. Besonders gefällt mir, dass der Mini Gen3 völlig unabhängig von der Cloud genutzt werden kann – ein echtes Plus für Datenschutz und Zuverlässigkeit. Er unterstützt sowohl WLAN als auch Bluetooth und kann sogar als BLE-Gateway für andere Geräte dienen. Mit bis zu 8 Ampere Schaltleistung ist er für viele Anwendungen im Haushalt ideal: Licht, Steckdosen, Türöffner, Lüfter – alles läuft problemlos. In Kombination mit Home Assistant via MQTT oder über die Shelly-App funktioniert die Steuerung fast verzögerungsfrei und stabil. Auch technisch überzeugt das Gerät: Der neue ESP-Chip mit 8 MB Speicher macht ihn deutlich zukunftssicherer als Vorgängermodelle, und regelmäßige Firmware-Updates sorgen für konstante Verbesserungen. Fazit: Der Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 ist für mich ein echter Gamechanger im Smart-Home-Bereich – klein, aber oho! Klare Kaufempfehlung für alle, die bestehende Installationen smart machen wollen – ganz ohne aufwendige Umbauten.

Funktionalitet: Det bästa med Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 är att den är så mångsidig. Den fungerar med både 12V, 24V och 230V, vilket gör att den kan användas för många olika enheter och scenarier. Jag använder den för att automatisera både lampor och mindre apparater. Dessutom är den kompatibel med röstassistenter som Google Home och Amazon Alexa, vilket ger smidig röststyrning. Fjärrkontroll och schemaläggning: Med Shelly-appen kan jag styra mina enheter var som helst ifrån och schemalägga automatiska åtgärder, vilket är perfekt för att spara energi och få ett bekvämare hem. I purchased 3 of these units, after installation they would drop connection for no apparent reason. I contacted the support team; they guided me through steps to diagnose the problem. my problem was a new ethernet switch, I put an old switch in, and the Shelly products are working perfect. this is a great product and an outstanding support team. They are easy to install and work great in my home automation setup. I would highly recommend these; I will purchase more of the units.
