Even just a very light application (1 swipe followed by a second one to define edges a bit more) deposited very deep, rich color using shade 689 Dark Desire. It isn't drying and isn't overly wet - my lips just feel like my lips, I can barely even notice there's lipstick on them until I go to the bathroom and am surprised by how nice I look in the mirror!I tried eating and drinking water and there was no lipstick transfer to the cup, and no color loss. It also stayed put for some smooches. For science, I tried a little making out with this lipstick on, and while it smudged a little (reasonable) not very much and it was easy to remove with just a quick swipe of tissue, while still remaining richly pigmented on my lips.Honestly, I've never quite understood the appeal of high end lipstick brands - why bother when you know you'll need to reapply it every hour anyways? I'm on hour 5 of just doing my normal day with a single swipe of this lipstick, including eating, drinking, kissing, and my lips still look freshly applied. I'm an estee lauder convert, I'm not sure I'm ever going to bother with other brands again for darker shades of lipstick!Also, the 689 Dark Desire shade looks really lovely on olive skin - it doesn't have that slightly coral twinge a lot of dark reds can sometimes take on, and reminds me of what a blackberry/raspberry puree looks like as far as hue.

Estee Lauder is my favorite brand. I had some lipsticks of this brand. So I’m so excited when i got this lipstick. I got the color 626, and I can only say one word “awesome!”. The color is so pretty. This liptick is matte but easy to apply on my lips. Not dry at all, and I feel nothing, it’s very lightweight and smooth. Highly recommend it.

For me, this lipstick checks all the boxes. It is the perfect shade of nude for my skin tone, not too orange or pink-toned. It goes on smooth and feels light and almost powdery on my lips. It doesn't feel too dry though. This is most definitely a matte lipstick, and if that is what you are looking for, you will love how this formula feels! I have tried so many "all day" lipsticks that come off within an hour or so, but this one seems to hold on a lot longer. I also appreciate that it doesn't have an annoying fragrance like other brands. I will definitely be trying another shade of this lipstick soon!

I was so hopeful about this lipstick knowing Estee Lauder is a trusted brand. The lipstick itself is nice. It feels okay, though a bit dryer than I prefer being a very matte texture like the description.It goes on nicely and the container is beautiful. Even the box it came in is pretty!I got the color "Lure You In" #681 and it looked much more mauve in the pictures than it is.This looks very orange on me. I'm disappointed not liking it at all.Not even sure what to do with it since I won't use it. I hate to through a perfectly good lipstick away but who would use a once used one! Oh well. It was worth a shot.So, I'd say if you are looking for a very matte lipstick that is decent, give this a try...just not sure about how to make sure you get a color that you actually like and looks good on you. There are SO MANY different color choices!

This is a really good quality lipstick. It's very matte looking on its own so if you like a bit of shine you'll want to add a little gloss. (I've not tried to wear it completely on its own because I always add either a gloss or lip oil to add more moisture.) The color I got (680 Rule Breaker) is a nice neutral tone, almost on the brown/orange side rather than pink. It does a great job of contouring my lip shape, and the color stays in place a long while.

This Estée Lauder lipstick is smooth as butter. It goes onto my lips so smoothly. It's very creamy feeling and doesn't feel like it dries out my lips like some lipsticks do. It actually feels hydrating. It is very pigmented, and the color is so pretty. I got the color After Hours, and it's a very pretty plum color (in between a dark red and purple). It lasts all day with a little bit of reapplying after eating or drinking. Miminual transfering, but there is some. The tube is pretty, and so are the markings on the lipstick itself. It is a tad expensive, but I think it's worth it for the quality and the luxury Estée Lauder name.

My wife reports that this is a good lipstick. Adheres well, spreads evenly, and high quality. The color is very close to the swatch on the box. There was not much color bleeding - it mostly stayed put (a little rub onto teeth and straws). It is a little dry on the lips.The case is excellent because of the magnet. The top stays attached to the bottom with internal magnets, keeping everything from flying around in her purse.Her perspective is that the lipstick is a 4 but the case makes it a 5.
