The stencils are flimsy. The pens do not have any color name or number on them and the barrels are slick and round and hard to get the caps off.

Nice sized notebook. Markers are markers. You can’t have enough. Templates are fun addition.

The notebook is well bound and the pages are a good thickness. The included markers don't bleed unless you go over your lines a few times and the fine tips work well.I like that the cover is clear and you can create your own cover page. The markers are nicely colored, and mostly work great. One of the markers that I received died on the first page that I was drawing, but I am pretty sure that the ones I received are from before 2018 based on the label and insert in my set. I have several marker sets and have been using my alcohol markers in the notebook with a paper behind the page that I am working on to protect the following sheet because alcohol markers *DO* bleed through the pages.The stencils are plastic and work well. The price point feels a bit high to me for this, but everything works well and looks nice.4.5 stars

The starter bullet journal kit is a great start. The journal has a opaque plastic color and it can be decorated or the first page can be decorated the become the cover. It is a spiral notebook so the pages lay flat. The paper is smooth and is dotted. The kit also comes with a set of colorful fine tip pens. They write smoothly and the tips are great for writing or drawing in the journal. There are also ten small stencil pages that have a wide variety of shapes and banners to decorate your pages. Bullet journaling is all the rage and is great for people of all ages. This kit is a great gift for someone new into bullet journaling and will give them a great start. It does seem to be a bit expensive and the items can probably be purchased separately at a lower cost.

I kinda thought the notebook would have a picture on the cover -- but actually the cover is CLEAR so you could draw your own cover illustration on the first page and it would show through the clear cover. When I read the description more closely, that is what it says, but I was thrown off by the product photo.This is a nice set. The fineliner pens are lovely, very fine points and assorted colors. Can be used for either writing or drawing.Paper is thick and if you use the fineliner pens you can write on both sides with no bleed-through. The dot grid is visible but light.I don't use the stencils because I mostly use the notebook for writing and morning pages. I've never used stencils before so can't comment on their quality, but there are a LOT of stencils. Mostly shapes, some letters/numbers/symbols.

I am a huge snob when it comes to paper! I appreciate an attractive cover on a journal, but more important to me is the paper inside. This journal has paper that feels good, and every page is covered with tiny dots in a grid formation that makes it easy to write, draw, or use stencils. The tiny stencils included are fun and there are MANY to choose from. If you use the fine-tip markers in the kit, the colors generally don't show through to the other side of the page. If you color something in though, as I did with a small balloon stencil, it does show through. You might want to use colored pencils for any coloring and use the skinny markers only to outline or write.

This is a nice journal but came with some issues which, considered up against the price, resulted in a lower rating. Overall it has nice features. The clear plastic cover allows for you to design your "cover". There are plenty of pages, the stencils have everything I wanted, and the pens are colorful.My issues started with the black pen not working. It was completely dried out. The pens also bled through a bit, but not enough that it was totally distracting.I designed about 7 pages that I'm happy with and look forward to many more. This would be a nice gift if the price was lower.

This is really creative. You get a little notebook with lightly dotted pages, along with two solid plastic covers, and a ton of mini stencils to go with it. Everything you'd need for creative journaling from banners to bubbles to hearts and stars, the stencils are super fun and pretty well made. The colored marker set (fine tip) isn't the best on the market, but they are a solid B item. There is no design on the cover on purpose, so that your own design and creativity show through. A great journal for the creative person in your household, this would make an awesome gift.
