ASUS TUF Gaming FX707VI 17.3" Full HD 144Hz Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-13620H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (140W TGP), 16GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, Windows 11)

Here’s my experience with this beauty called A16 Advantage Edition after using it for 10 days, about 5-6 hours a day:This laptop is elegant, well-built, budget-friendly, and powerful, excellent for both gaming and productivity. Before buying it, I did a lot of research, watching reviews and videos, because I wanted a powerful machine for gaming but also with good battery life. Since I invested €950 (I bought it from Italy), I wanted to be able to take it to a park or coffee shop without worrying about the battery running out.I ended up getting exactly what I wanted, or even better. Here’s my experience so far:--Noise level: I was initially concerned because my headphones don’t have noise cancellation, but even in performance mode (using G-Helper), the fans only reach around 4000-4500 RPM, I barely notice them.--Temps: At first, the CPU was hitting 95°C during gaming in performance mode, but after getting a €9 laptop stand, it dropped to 85°C, and the fan noise went down as well. I highly recommend a stand.--Battery life: I limit charging to 70% in G-Helper since I usually use it plugged in. With this setup—CPU on silent mode, GPU on iGPU, and the display at 60Hz—I get about 6-7 hours of battery life while web browsing or watching videos at 75% brightness.--Display: The screen is fantastic, with a 165Hz refresh rate and a MUX switch for direct GPU access, reducing latency. It’s also 16:10, so it feels bigger and looks great.But it's true that the max brightness might not be good enough if you go outside on a sunny day (I fixed this by increasing the brightness in the AMD adrenalin software momentarily)--Keyboard/Touchpad: The only thing I don’t love is the keyboard; I wish the keys had a bit more travel, but it’s still fine. The touchpad is smooth and works perfectly.I did upgrade to 32gb ram and got an intel wireless card ax210 since in my opinion has better speeds than the one installed and bluetooth 5.3.I’m in love with this beast and it's design not gamery is the best.

Amazing quality, wanted a computer for gaming needs and work needs and is perfect for the job. Works amazing for high quality games and runs very smoothly. Definitely recommend this item for anyone who is looking for something high quality. Very easy to set up, high memory capacity, amazing sound quality, good weight, and a great screen size. Amazing product!

Very good laptop. I bought this to replace a faulty laptop, where the trackpad had stopped working.This unit has worked great so far. Fast on both daily tasks and browsing, but also performs well when I'm playing games. It's not power hungry and lasts a decent amount of time on it's own battery juice. The graphics are impressive with Nvidia at the helm. Sound is an improvement on my previous TUF gaming laptop, with no tinny echos, just a nice crisp sound with decent bass.So far, no technical problems, and I was able to change the colour of the backlit keyboard using the already installed software 'armor'I will update this in review in 6 months, watch this space..

I was very positively surprised by this "gaming" laptop. Thanks to its powerful HX 370 processor which has a very good iGPU, I actually keep its 4070 discrete GPU disabled most of the time. It is completely silent and has a good battery life.The first thing I did was to immediately format the PC and reinstall with a fresh win11 USB. Despite having disabled armoury crate in the BIOS beforehand it still installed some Asus services, which I disabled. No software bloatware though after the reinstall though. Be aware that the driver for the wifi chip on this model is not included in the win11 install USB media. You need to download it from Asus and put it on the drive or use Ethernet.I then installed g-helper. It is immensely useful. I set the CPU mode to silent, and GPU to ECO which disables the discrete GPU. The PC is silent most of the time and I expect around 9 hours of battery life in normal usage.There is plenty of power in reserve if needed for more complex tasks.The screen is good. I keep it at 60hz to maximise battery life. As with the rest of the system, its ability to do 165Hz can be useful when needed.I did not install any Asus software, but I did install the AMD tools. With it one can allocate RAM to the iGPU. I set it at 8GB leaving the rest of the system at 24GB. I wish it was completely seamless.It is great that it has a second port for NVMe drives, which I am planning to use.Some issues:* BIOS update seems to not work with bitlocker encryption. As Bitlocker encryption is desirable and enabled by default, I am surprised Asus did or could not design its BIOS updates with this in mind.* It is a bit heavier than I would have preferred but I am happy with this purchase.* Would have been a nice gesture to include a 100W USB4 charger with such an expensive PC. There is a large 200W power brick with its special port, which would be needed for intense use. For daily use and travel a USB-C charger would be a good purchase.

Laptop one of the best i have had and 1st gaming laptop i've had. Not too crazy about the various flashing keyboard backlights but you can set it to a single backlight. Speed of the laptop is pretty good and runs the programmes i want to run with no bother. Well pleased with the laptop, bought to replace the original laptop purchased 4 weeks earlier to run my programmes but couldn't handle it. Well pleased with the purchase, ease of use and overall appearance. And it was cheaper than the original. Would buy another one. It is a very good laptop.
