This was exactly what I needed for my new lens and it fits perfectly and is safe and secure.

I bought this case for use with a 180-600 telephoto zoom lens. The lens fits in the case fine, with room left to slide in a few odds and ends. I took the case with me on an off-road trip in Baja and it tumbled out of the back door of our vehicle at one stop and hit the ground, but the lens was perfectly fine. There were significant amounts of jarring and bouncing while on the road, but the case protected the lens just fine.The case has multiple straps: a shoulder strap; two straps that run around the body of the case that I was able to attach to the tripod straps on my backpack; and a loop strap at the top that grabbed to carry the case and was the one I used to hook the case in place in my vehicle. (The tumble to the ground occurred when I forgot hook the case in place one time.)

Bought to carry Nikon 180-600 zoom instead of flimsy, cheesy cloth sack Nikon includes with the lens. This is a much , much better alternative for carrying and protecting the lens.

I just used this to carry my Sony 200-600mm lens. It did a great job protecting my investment. I look forward to buying more for my other lens in the future.
