No problems! They work well...
Unlike some other reviewers, I have had no problems with these brackets. The rod is tightly affixed to the plate and close enough to 90 degrees that any inaccuracy is inconsequential. The rods are 10mm (0.393") in diameter. Since most people in the US don't have metric drills, the closest fractional size is 13/32" (0.406"). You can also use a Y (0.404") drill, if you happen to have a letter size set. The slots in the bracket allow some side to side adjustment if your holes are a bit off position. I recommend using a drill guide or drill press to make sure your holes go straight in. It's hard to drill straight in using a hand held drill and a slight angle will cause the rod to bind in the hole. If that happens to you, redrill it with the next size up drill bit.Note that these do not come with any mounting hardware. You'll need to supply wall anchors and screws.Absolutely no complaints. I've ordered another set to mount some more picture rails.

Brackets are great, hardware is trash.
As the headline says - the brackets are great. The screws and anchors that come with them are worthless - the screws stripped nearly immediately using a manual screwdriver, and the anchors broke trying to hammer them into drywall. I would recommend throwing them out and purchasing something better.I would love to see recessed channels on the front and back, along the slots, to accommodate the anchors (if installing into drywall) and the screw heads. This would add to the manufacturing (and thus retail) cost, of course. An easy workaround is to just cut / route the receiving mortise (for lack of a better word) in the floating shelf a little bit deeper, if possible, to compensate. I used 2 brackets to mount a 36" 1x6 floating shelf, and it's rock solid.I highly recommend having a jig or tool on hand to ensure perfectly perpendicular holes are drilled into the shelf. If they're off by a little bit, the brackets will be difficult or impossible to install. The round mounting posts themselves were perfectly perpendicular to the rectangular base of the bracket.Overall, good quality, would buy again. If the hardware were better quality, it would easily be a 5-star product.

Great item for a true hidden floating shelf bracket
These items are hard to find in hardware stores, so I have to order them online but was very pleased with the product. The only challenge is if you want a true hidden look to your shelf bracket, you will need to chisel the back of the shelf out or use a router and trace the bracket to create an inset for the bracket to be hidden into.

Great for 6 to 10 inch deep shelves.
I used a chisel to counter sink the edge of the shelf to keep the mounting devices hidden. The only complaint I have is that no mention to the size of the drill to use for the mounting. I had to experiment with several drill bits until I found one where the mountings would slide in firmly, but still be tight.

Easy to install
These are great for floating shelves that are 1.5” thick or thicker.

Don’t bother!
Unless you already own a drill press and a router with a mortise bit, don’t waste your time or money on these brackets. The instructions make it out to be a simple installation. If your 3” holes aren’t perfectly aligned and perfectly drilled, forget about your shelf sliding onto the posts. Oh, and the screws they give you to mount the brackets onto the wall don’t mount flush into the brackets so you need to make sure your routed inlays in the back of the shelf are deep enough to accommodate the screw heads sticking out. These really were a pain in the ass to install.
