It's a good book, it has 2 practice test to do and the answers. The bad part is some questions are missing parts to it, so can't find the right answer. They need to review the book before they put it out

I ordered the book for someone else. The person found the book to be very helpful and easy to follow. The person is very satisfied with the book.

One of the worst study guides around - it is rife with typos, grammatical errors, and seems to have been proofread by Mr. Magoo. Unfortunately, a fairly large part of the sanitation exam, seems to revolve around reading comprehension, and the ability to illustrate a grasp of basic English grammar - something the author/proofreader of this book was unable to do.In several of the grammar related questions, there are severe typos - and you don't know if they're intentional, to throw you off, or just missed by the proofreader(s). They don't know the difference between grammar and spelling. You're stuck choosing between a grammatically incorrect sentence with a spelling error, or a really grammatically incorrect sentence with no spelling error (hint: since it's a grammar related question, choose the really wrong answer with no spelling errors - apparently, spelling and grammar are interchangeable).Next up, is spatial reasoning. There are 10 or so questions with the following format: "you head east for 2 blocks, make a right and travel for 3 blocks, then make a left and travel for 2 more blocks - which direction are you heading?". Now, in and of itself, the question is fine - BUT, next to the question is a diagram, that gives you the answer. At first, I thought I was nuts, but it's all 10 questions. The diagram has arrows showing which way you turned, and has the final direction at the end of it. I pray the real exam gives the answers next to the questions, too.Then, there's the answer key, where the fun really starts. The answers, are different in the answer key, than the choices given, in the exam. In other words, the exam answers leave out crucial words, forcing you choose a wrong answer. It's not until you see the answer in the key, that you realize words are missing from the test question choices.And last, but not least. my favorite in the answer key - NOT CORRECT, THIS IS THE ANSWER. Hand to whichever deity you to choose to believe in, this is in the actual answer key. Not sure if your answer is right - don't worry neither was the author/proofreader.Do yourself a favor, pick up a study guide on English grammar, basic math skills, and spatial reasoning - you'll do far better on the exam.

I am not sure if my husband passed the exam. He said it helped him understand the questions a lot better. He was able to recognize the questions and how to figure out the answers.

Excellent book covering all 7 parts of the DSNY Entrance Exam. Each part is broken up in sections so you can practice for the test and get a head start on everyone else.

Took the Sanitation Worker Exam # 5001 on 02.07.15, and the questions were very similar to what was described on the text. Helpful to some extent!

It's a decent book. It covered way more than was going to be on the test but what was on the test was technically in the book so I'd recommend it to anyone taking the exam. However be warned, there are a plethora of typos in this book. You noticed them but they are still there.

Believe it, or not this book helps you prepare for the test. The test questions were very similar. I found that the actual exam was, so easy after studying this book
