Actually really good if you need it and are willing to try it out
This is one of their best if a bit on the sweeter side for me. These are great. My job is insane and this keeps me from dropping dead basically. Also keeps me regular. No really. Clean & efficient. Just don't do 3+ per day for weeks or months because way too much will make you toot toot like a train whistle, although that's no different from any time someone eats too much of only one thing constantly. 1-2 daily seems is perfect. It's good, at least as much as the other brands'' but I think better than those I've tried and doesn't upset my tums like others do sometimes. I think that it's also one of the more sustainable and responsible of all the options, if not the best on that score.

Soylent helped me change my life
Hi guys - this is going to be a longer review so bear with me. I am a college student who came into college at 215 pounds and began gaining weight freshman year. My weight peaked at 255 pounds during January of 2019 (the winter break of my sophomore year). When I went over 250 on the scale, I knew I needed to change something. The problem was, I was an extremely busy student, had a social life, and was going through job recruiting at the same time. My eating habits were horrible - I wouldn't walk to the dining hall and would buy snacks from the convenience store or order food every night. This led to a horrible relationship with food where I was constantly binge eating, eating only once per day, and only eating carbs and sugar. I felt awful, had no energy, and no confidence. I couldn't find a diet that I could fit into my schedule and stick with - tracking calories at a dining hall was way too much commitment for me. While doing research, I stumbled upon a YouTube video of someone who claimed that Soylent changed their life, so I ordered a box on Amazon. Every day I would drink 4 bottles of Soylent. That's 1600 calories. No meal planning, no walking to the dinning hall, no cooking, no tracking my meals, no hassle. That's where Soylent really shines. It allows you to portion your calories and get the nutrients you need without the hassle of traditional meal plans. I would do this throughout the week and then eat and drink how I wanted to on the weekends. Soylent really changed my relationship with food, by making me understand that my body only needed a certain amount of calories each day. During the spring of 2019, I lost 20 pounds and I really gained the knowledge and confidence that I was able to lose weight and control my eating. In the summer of 2019, I drank Soylent for half my meals and lost an additional 15 pounds. Eventually I transitioned to full solid meals again, equipped with the ability to control my eating and understanding of what my body needed. Since then (it's been almost a year and a half), I have lost over 60 pounds! I weighed 193 earlier this week. While Soylent wasn't the only cause of this, the product let me take a step back and took the stress out of dieting. When I started to see that I could lose weight and started eating solid food again, I was able to control myself a lot better and continue on my weight loss journey. People may laugh at you when you tell them you're on a liquid diet, but who cares. Soylent really changed my life and redefined my relationship with food. It's cheap - compared to normal meals I was spending an equivalent amount of money on soylent. Also - IT TASTES GOOD. You can't force yourself to drink this if it tasted bad. I actually really enjoyed every flavor I tried, and would buy all 3 main flavors (vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry) and the chai coffee ones so that I would have a selection depending on the mood I was in. I think the stuff actually tastes really good - trust me, I've had plenty of protein shakes in my life and this actually tastes like a drink you want to drink. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message. Weight loss is a really tough journey and it requires a lot of work and self dedication, but Soylent can help you get on the right path and relieve you of the burden that traditional diets cause. SPECIFICALLY REGARDING VANILLA: Vanilla was probably my favorite flavor. It has that good tang of a vanilla flavored drink, while not tasting too artificial.

One of the worse Soylent flavors, but still better than other brands.
Doesn't taste as good as the chocolate, and still tastes worse than any of the powders, but it's drinkable long term.

You will love these if you love vanilla milkshakes.
This was my first time trying the vanilla flavor. It’s very light , it tastes like a healthy vanilla shake , it just tastes naturally sweet, so it’s not sugary. Just light and pleasant. It doesn’t not have any flavoring that would give you the impression of cows milk, just pure vanilla milk. It reminds me of vanilla almond milk a little but thicker and a bit sweeter. The chocolate one is my favorite . If you are using as a meal replacement it does give a feeling of fullness but I would still snack to satisfy the feeling. Liquid fullness doesn’t feel the same as the fullness you get from eating. So you may still feel an urge to eat something, not hunger though just an urge. I don’t use it as meal replacement, but I did grab one for breakfast when I didn’t have time to eat and I felt a bit full. When I drink it with food. I eat smaller meals because of how full I get from drinking it. The texture is smooth, it’s not gritty and it doesn’t have any weird aftertaste to me. It’s not too thick and it’s not too thin. It doesn’t not have that protein taste either 😖

some tips from years of drinking soylent
I've been drinking soylent since roughly when I was a senior in high school, on and off through college, and now again since work has me well... stressed and strapped for time. My favorite flavor is vanilla, which to me tastes like a cake-battery cereal without being too sweet, and mint chocolate is a close second. If you're new to drinking soylent or even have had it for a while I wanted to share some tips for what I think creates the best experience: 1. Eat something with soylent, especially when starting out. Some people seem to think it's possible to just quit regular food cold turkey and drink like 5 of these a day to get your recommended 2000calorie intake which is like yikes. In my experience, to avoid my stomach feeling very upset with me, it usually works best to eat something normal (like a bagel, for breakfast) and then drink some soylent to feel full. 2. Don't drink more than a couple per day, it's simple really. While it's branded as a meal replacement your body is not really going to be happy with you if your diet consists only of soy protein, canola oil, and a bunch of mineral supplements. On paper this should work but I have always felt pretty terrible whenever I try to go down this road. I do not recommend it. For me, soylent is a good breakfast additive to actually make me feel full, maybe sometimes for lunch or later if I feel like I'm still hungry. It's pretty nutritionally complete and great for these instances. I would not ever recommend having it be your sole diet. 3. Soylent takes time for your stomach to get used to, so ease into it. I've been drinking this stuff for years and my stomach will still sometimes get mad at me if I drink only soylent for lunch without anything more substantial. Bodies weren't meant for it, so take your time and go easy on yourself. Hope this helps!
