This product is ok but I find it a pain to keep un doing all the netting each time I want to get at the fruit, would not buy another one, and unfortunately did get a larger one too, still will use that one for the bantem hens !!

Very useful crop protector

I bought one in 2014 for my currant bush. It is made from aluminium tubes, with rubber balls acting as joints, and plastic spikes at the base of each upright. There is a coarse net, and some spikes to hold down the net. Quality is good, assembly is easy, but make sure the net is pinned down well. I kept getting home and finding I'd caught some baby blackbirds. After letting them out, blackbird pie not appealing to me, I pinned the net down better. My old cage has plastic pegs that look like large nails. They are a bit fiddly to use. A cage I bought this year has an improved net peg, whereby you shove the peg into the ground, then hook the net onto the side of the peg. Thus it is much easier to unhook the net, to gain access. You could even use bricks as weights to hold down the net. It would be even quicker to gain access. Overall this is a very good product. Oh, and if you have currants, you do need to net, otherwise blackbirds will strip them.
