Sterling Test Prep DAT Biology Practice Questions: High Yield DAT Biology Questions

Results are in and I am very happy with my scores; science in particular. I used these biology practice questions to focus my studying. I had been reviewing the content for the DAT and needed to take practice questions to flush out my understanding for strengths and weaknesses. Very valuable material her (along with the gen chemistry book). Highly recommend these practice questions to be sure that you are ready for the types of questions on the DAT. The detailed explanations helped me reinforce my learning. These also helped for those questions that I had not been exposed to from my preparation of the topics. I was prepared and somewhat relaxed going into the exam because I know I spent sufficient time studying and was ready.

Out of the three books sterling has, this one is by far the best and has the least amount of mistakes. I would read the section corresponding to a question set from my bio book then do the questions. After doing all the questions, I tried the free practice test on the datqvault homepage (tbh, Idk how they compare to the real dat) and finished all the questions within ~15-20 minutes and scored a 22. If you don't remember much from gen bio, then this book will not do you much justice if you don't read before doing the question sets. Personally, I did not pay much attention in gen bio, but I have taken more bio electives, so I kinda had a "boost."

Great preparation for the DAT. Excellent source of practice questions for the biology component of the exam. Challenging questions with detailed explanations. By reading the explanation, I really improved my understanding of the material. A few of my friends, in the past, used other materials with mixed reviews. Here, I really benefited from this book and have told my friends that plan to prepare for the DAT about these study guides. I used the Sterling Prep General chemistry book and was equally satisfied and impressed with the detailed explanations. Content of the chapters matches what is covered on the DAT. I used the online component to refine my learning and obtain a diagnostic report of my progress in biology from the practice.

My pre-professional adviser recommended this book to master biology. She told me that lots of students think they will do well with the biology section but often they are surprised and disappointed with their actual results. It was helpful to read the explanations to compare what I chose (even if it was correct) with the learning behind the concept. Definitely I have a much better understanding of biological sciences. I prepared the bio section intensely and my scores showed it. Apps in and I expect a positive decision. If you are serious about beating the competition for a great DAT score, get this book and use it.

I am biology major and have a solid foundation in the sciences. This book has great DAT biology practice questions. I really liked the explanations where I was able to evaluate if I got the right (or wrong) answer compared to the information I know (or should know) to solve the problems. I learned many new details even though I am strong in bio. I like the practice questions that are divided into the same topics as tested on the DAT.

I am not normally motivated enough to write a review for anything but this seriously annoyed me enough to write one. I am about half way through the book and while there are plenty of questions they seem to have been lazy enough to skip explaining a lot of them. When you flip to the answers section in the back some questions give you a letter answer but NO explanation as to why that is the correct answer. Its as if they thought "Oh hey why would they want to understand this topic just memorize all the questions and their answers! Who needs to understand since anyways?!" Want to be frustrated during your prep for the DAT? Buy this book! Want to memorize over 1,000 questions and their answer? Buy this book! Want to actually learn material to succeed on exam day? Stay away from this book.

Questions in the book are very similar to the DAT. Excellent practice to get ready for testday. Explanations really helped me review the fundamentals and add to my understanding of the biology material I needed to know, but didn't know that I was missing till I practiced with the book. Great book for the edge on the DAT.

This product really helped me do well on the Biology section of the DAT exam. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get a 20 or higher on their DAT. It really solidifies your knowledge in the subject.

Lots of questions. Many of them much harder than the actual DAT (Canadian one anyway) which only helps to solidify important concepts. Can feel a little repetitive with some of the questions but overall a very good soure for "late stage" studying when you already know the basis of most concepts and want to get even further in depth with these questions. Lots of understanding and not just recall questions which is great. Although most of the DAT is simple recall, by understanding concepts you are far more likely to be able to recall it on the actual exam.
