Zolux Neo Nigha Small Rodent Cage L 77.5 x D 47.5 x H 64.5 cm Grey

I’ve owned Hamsters for over 20 years.This cage looks nice but it’s definitely not big enough for a Syrian HamsterThis cage is more for a Russian/Chinese Hamster, as it doesn’t fit the recommended cage size requirements for a Syrian.I only purchased this for my Syrian Hamster as he only has one eye, and is almost 2 years old so slowing down and elderly.I removed the legs for my hamsters safety because when the legs are attached there are plastic lumps sticking out and one in the middle.But with the legs removed there are 4 small holes in each corner.I had to layer the cage with liners.I added tons of bedding and placed items over all four holes.If you don’t use a liner in the cage bedding will constantly fall out the holes.What’s the point of buying a cage with legs and not feel like it’s safe to use them on the cage.My Hamster was in it for a few weeks and seemed depressed so I’ve bought him a new cage now.I am not sure if a Hamster could chew the holes when the legs are removed, and over time escape.I’ve had Hamsters chew holes in other cages.Hamsters love to borrow deep in their bedding.I’m concerned that if the legs are attached and these plastic attachments stick out could they hurt them in some way???They can also be chewed by the Hamster, and could hurt them, or cause a blockage if plastic is swallowed.It’s a lovely looking cage but I’m not sure it’s safe.The metal lid was also not completely flat, so lifts slightly.Im also concerned if a Hamster could climb up and try and squeeze through one of the corners.You could place items on top in each corner but then it doesn’t look as attractive.The plastic around the cage is a bit rough looking so not perfect.My opinion would be to buy a bigger cage, even bigger than the recommended Size rather than go for something that’s going to look trendy, or more pleasing on the eye in your home.Hamsters need a lot of space and as I previously said I only bought this for my elderly Hamster because he was in a big cage, and I wanted a slightly smaller to have everything close to him.After seeing all the plastic attachments sticking out I thought it was best to make other buyers aware of these.I’ve never seen a cage with that before.I did contact the seller about this and they never replied to my message.It’s quite a lot of money for a cage this size.I wouldn’t have minded the cost if I thought it was safe.You can buy a massive glass Ikea Detolf cabinet to convert into a cage for less than this.

Its a complete ball ache to put together. Quality is shocking. Screwcovers for the legs did not fit at all. Very flimsy. No confidence that this cage will last at all. The wheel provides not suitable at all for any type of rodent. Very disappointing. Do not buy.

i’ve had this cage for about 3 years now still standing and looks brand new still. my hamster Syrian hamster has pasted due to illness however this cage made her life easier and she loved it. guys buy this cage it’s big and really good okay. with this cage i took the second level out as it wasn’t necessary to me however it may be to you. Overall this is a great cage for ur hamsters and it’s amazing.
