Fits tighter than original. Very pleased. Hard to find replacement parts for this long discontinued blender. BBL605XL. This buys me a bit more time. Now gotta find a replacement pitcher if it exists.

Excellent replacement. It is difficult to get food particles out of the suction area. I had to flood it with water and use a straw brush. Otherwise, it’s great!

Needed to replace the lid that came with the blender originally. What is different is that the original lid had no gaskets between the small access cover and the main cover. This lid is gasketed. the HUGE advantage is that, unlike the original lid, which had a tendency to fly off if you didn't hold it in place during operation, this lid forms a vacuum. You actually have to turn the inner cover to break the seal in order to remove the cover from the pitcher. The cover no longer flies off while the unit is in operation. That alone was worth the price.

I did not realize I was purchasing a 'newer' version. This newer version is cheap (plastic much thinner than original), and the small inner cap is useless - especially the rubber seal it now has. Why did Breville reinvent the wheel and actually made no improvements? Sorry I purchased this version by accident.
