The media could not be loaded. ****UPDATE****I have now bought 4 of these returned two thinking they were bad BUT it's just the battery. These unit have a lithium battery and have sat so long the batteries have discharged under 20% and now the VG5 will not charge them. Order the replacement VG5Ba battery ($62) and you will be good. Also the replacement battery is a 5200 up from 2600 factory so it will run almost twice as long a charge. With the price so low on Amazon it is well worth it. It beats anything in the $149 price range, you will have to get a speaker over $300-400 to out perform these.Now that I have working ones these things sound great. Nice room filling sound at low volume and you can tell when the dynamic EQ kicks in at higher volume(outside). They get loud enough that you can't talk over them with zero distortion from the speaker. People have already commented about how nice they are and that leads into the story about there great price and just buy a battery.The range on the Bluetooth is about 40ft witch is perfect for me. I pair two of them together and run one inside with the other being outside for entertaining.***ORIGINAL POST***So I purchased two of these to run inside and out side at the same time for entertaining. Unfortunately it did not go well. The first one showed up and was a dead stick. Nothing worked it did not even recognize it was plugged in. The second unit came in but has a low battery light and will not charge. To say the least I am very disappointed..... hope you have better luck than I did.

The first speaker I bought wasn't charging the battery so I returned it for a replacement which did come within a couple days. Didn't matter though, because it had the same problem. The speaker worked while plugged in and I did like the sound of the speaker, but I woul like a unit/battery that isn't defective out if the box. Now iI just have to wait another two weeks for a refund. Sound quality is good, but I'm giving one star for both speakers that were sent being defective.

This speaker really does have great sound. It was also very easy to connect with Bluetooth. My only complaint is that it doesn’t get as loud as I had hoped. Wanted to use it at an event and it’s just not quite loud enough. But for home use and backyard use, it’s perfect.

Awesome speakers with great sound and powerful bass. So far we used used it by the pool and we also plan to take it to the beach and desert.Update on January 26, 2021: today I did an unintended drop test. As we opened the trunk of our Toyota Sequoia the speaker rolled out and fell on the ground (asphalt). Still works fine, the soft plastic-rubber top and bottom provided good protection. Still loving this speaker, we are now using it in snow and rain while the kids are taking horse riding lessons.

If I could give it a zero I would. I bought 2 so I could do true stereo. When it is fully charged and the 2 connected, the stereo sounds awesome. The connection and charge is awful. You press and hold and nothing turns on repeatedly. Second, the charge never holds. I went to grab them a day or two after a full charge and nothing. Zip, zilch, zero. Charge completely gone. Worst money I ever spent. Soundcast built a piece of junk.It is a shame as I have the VG7 model and it is a trooper. Best speaker I ever bought.

This is an amazing speaker and for the price it's unbeatable, the bass is clear, rich and punchy, the treble is amazing to, really premium well built speaker! Would recommend to everyone

Received the VG5 timely and in great condition. However, the battery would not charge. I re-installed a couple of times and kept getting the red blinking error light. Amazon quickly sent out a replacement and I'm having the same problem. Looks like Soundcast is out of business and i was not able to find support or order a replacement battery>

Love this speaker. Designed great, sounds so good, portability is so nice to have it around the pool area or take it someplace. Would have liked it to be a WiFi speaker but for my needs Bluetooth does the job. If you’re looking for clear sound with plenty of bass, you can’t go wrong with this speaker or other Soundcast speakers.
