Once plastic bags became a no-go, then canvas bags became the new, great thing so that most of us now own several. They can be used over and over and washed once soiled. It keeps plastic out of the stomachs of sea turtles and/or entangling sea creatures plus out of landfills where it takes forever to break down. They end up in trees and just dropped any ole where--very unsightly.I did not have a bag of this size which is a great size for grocery shopping. Unlike my more moderate sized canvas bags, at 21" x 15" x 6" this tote will hold a lot of groceries. It is made from strong cotton canvas in India, not China. All seams are caught and the handles are attached down the side to better manage a lot of weight. One has several color configurations to chose from; I chose the white with black handles.There is an 8" x 8" zippered pocket for personal items like keys or even small grocery items like spice bottles. One could also add daily makeup items, like a lipstick and compact, etc. The top also has a zipper should one want to use it. This is one well thought out large bag which would also be a great carry-all since a computer and many other items would fit. It could even be a beach bag or a weekender. Great bag at a great price.

There is so much to like about this bag. It is right-sized for carrying things like library books and groceries; I have already used it for both. It is lightweight, strong and flexible; it can easily be folded to a tiny size and then opened when needed. The zipper is a useful option; it can be semi-hidden and folded inside or it can pop up to create additional space. The cotton fabric is strong and the neat stitching appears to be done in the right places to reinforce the bag. The double straps are just right for over-one-shoulder use; I have also just grabbed the straps for a quick lower-down carry. There is a smaller outer pocket which suggests that this would make a great carry-on bag for flying, or the right thing to pack in a suitcase and have available while traveling.The quality of this bag is excellent for the price. It is one of those products that I was immediately comfortable with. I will prefer it over various other shopping bags that are not as useful as this one, and that have fatiguing colors and graphics on them. This is basic black, just the facts, ma’am, just the way I like. Recommended.

I like this tote! I chose the black and it has a lot of nice upgrades to a standard tote. I like that it's black which won't show scuffs but is also a bit different. It has a zipper to close the top if need be as well as a side-pocket, which makes it much more functional. I really like that it's made with organic cotton and that it's washable (although machine washable would be even better). It's described as heavy-duty and while I would definitely consider this as more heavy-duty than giveaway totes or your standard reusable grocery bags, I would categorize this as light to medium weight in terms of canvas tote bags. (For reference it's listed as 12 oz cotton. In comparison the thick, stiff cotton tote bags that hold their shape are usually ~24 oz.) It's a more durable material either way and both weights have their benefits; this tote isn't going to be as heavy/add weight to what you are carrying but it also isn't going to hold it's shape or have a flat bottom if that is what you are looking for. It's also not reinforced the same way heavy-duty canvas totes are (thicker handles that run around the bag, reinforced bottom, etc.) I may have some fun with mine and decorate it a bit. I will most likely use it as a shopping bag since it has a pocket and I hate taking a purse. It would also make a good hair/makeup/accessory bag for long weekends or a craft/ hobby type bag. As of 1/24 I am pleased with this bag and looking forward to using it. As long as it lasts and continues to work as expected, I will be happy. If it does not wear well or I run into any unexpected issues, I will update my review.

I live many miles from a large grocery store so my life requires many totes. This is a nice weight of cotton canvas. I jump at anything that's cotton and this is not only organic cotton but it's made in India. I truly have a love for Indian cotton. They know how to do textiles right.This tote bag is a generous size but still a size that can easily be lifted by most people when full. The straps are sturdy and of the right length. It has a zippered top which is a convenient touch that's not found on many totes. It has one small outside pocket but none inside.This is a great tote for most anything. I would use it for traveling, a day at the library or beach, to hold the needed essentials for my dogs on a day trip, just about anything and anywhere including those long hauls to the grocery store.This tote bag is washable which is a nice bonus. It's well made and I will enjoy using it.

First, I want to note it is truly black like the listing. It’s just hard to photograph the details of black on black without bright lights. It really is a Carry All! I couldn’t believe how much I could fit. I spent the weekend at a friends & needed all my toiletries- I packed full size bottles shampoo, conditioner, dryer, brushes + make-up and more. I even grabbed a lint roller on my way out and look how it fits in that side pocket. As you can see it fit it all with space to spare. The zipper is a game changer as no matter what your packing whether it’s shopping, overnight or to the beach, your stuff is secure. The label inside says 100% Cotton (no mention of Organic which it’s says in the title). Made in India. The bottom could be better reinforced, so while it easily fits my 13” MacBook Air & I have it in a padded zip case, I don’t think I would use it to carry my laptop around but it definitely fits. Color is always a personal preference. This black one picks up lint, but I think it’s easier to spot clean & lint roll, than the natural color.
