This is an extra strong set of solid steel wall hooks that extends out horizontally a little over 10 inches. They are unusual in that they do not have any gussets, angled braces or arms to help prevent the horizontal arm from bending when supporting heavy weights.This is a simple design that uses a vertical mounting bracket and a long, round-arm piece all made from steel material. The hook is coated with a thick, even deposit of mat black paint.The vertical mounting plate is 3 1/8" L x 1 1/2" W x .118" Thick (w/paint). It features two (2) counter-sunk holes (.23" Dia) for screws.The bar is 10 1/4" L x 3/8" Dia. The apex of the bent hook is at 9 1/4".The round end of the arm is welded to the bracket. So, all the weight supported by the arm is carried by this one weld point. Hanging a 10-pound pot on this hanger would put a lot of downward force on the arm and bracket.To provide the best support you should attach this hook to a strong vertical support such as a tree, a vertical wooden fence post or a masonry, concrete or brick wall. Attaching it to the corner of a house, where you could get the screws into a support beam would also be good.To attach it to a weaker flat surface such as the side of a house or shed I would suggest first attaching a wooden board to the metal vertical bracket. I probably would use nuts bolts and washers to attach it to the larger wooden piece. You would then attach this combination of hook and extra board to the weaker siding on the house or shed. This extra board would spread the load and protect the weaker surface.In either case once properly attached to a surface this is robust hook has tremendous capacity. The simple design looks really good and should last many generations. As time goes by you may see areas of rust. This is a minor thing and can be fixed with simple sanding or wire brush and some black spray paint.This is a strong hook that is made well and has a good long lasting finish. It can support a lot of weight if hung correctly. For myself, I will be looking for a tree or fence post as the most likely locations. The steel itself should not let you down. I would recommend this hook especially at this very economical price.

These are exactly what I needed. I wanted to hang a hummingbird feeder and a decorative item on my balcony, but the wood beam I planned to hang them from is pretty central and I didn't want these hanging down where I would be standing or walking. These are exactly what I needed to extend them out just a bit.The base is only a few inches wide so you don't have to find a huge area to attach it. The beam on my balcony is about 5-6 inches and you'd be surprised how hard it's been to find something to fit that. Many of the more elaborate and decorative ones have a larger base because they're heavier, so they wouldn't work for me. Plus I just wanted something simple, something that would move the hook out further than where the beam is, not something that is a focal point. These are nice looking but aren't so fancy that they become a decoration on their own. Just right for my needs.Installation is very easy. A couple screws and that's it, no putting anything together. That holds it well so I can hang my feeder and decorations without worry of them falling. They're not heavy which makes them even easier to mount, but they don't feel flimsy or cheap.Great product, great price, just what I needed.

These are very sturdy and solid. They are very well made and I am very confident hanging a very heavy plant using this. We are in a very windy area with zero wind block and I have no doubt these will hold up.
