These earrings are handmade by skilled artisans in Michoacán, Mexico from 100% Recycled Copper. The beautiful Green Patina color on the face of the earring results from painting the copper with an acid that causes the copper to oxidize.  • Shape: Teardrop. • Choose from three sizes: Small (approx. 1.4cm W x 3cm H), Medium (approx. 1.4cm W x 4cm H), Large (approx. 2.5cm W x 4.5cm H). • The French Wire hooks are Nickle-free Hypoallergenic. • Each set is mounted on a kraft hang tag/information card, wrapped in tissue paper, and packaged in a mini burlap gift bag. The Story Behind The Art: High in the mountains of Michoacán lives a skilled artisan practicing a dying trade. Like his grandfather and father before him, Salcedo is a master copper craftsman. With just basic tools that are almost a century old, he and his family create amazing works of art from recycled copper. "I love what I do. Working outside with the copper and my hands. It makes me happy and keeps me young." Salcedo's wife, Carmen, sells his creations to visiting tourists. It's a hard life relying on the uncertainty of street sales - at Luso Trading Co. we're trying to change that.  NOTICE: Each one of these is a handmade piece of art.
