In really cold weather, high-performance cold protection jackets are used. During the development of the Carinthia Softshell Jacket SpezKr care was taken to achieve weather resistance at moderate temperatures and at the same time ensure appropriate freedom of movement. Protection against rapid cooling (windproof thanks to Gore Windstopper membrane) in combination with high breathability are the most important features that are needed. Even in light showers, high-quality softshell fabrics can easily keep the wearer dry, but are not a complete replacement for rain jackets. In combination with base layers, the softshell multifunctional jacket is very versatile and allows activities in the range of +5 °C thanks to the increased freedom of movement.
