I initially bought this pet grass with the Hello Kitty mug, and have bought the refills many times since then. Both of my cats have their own Hello Kitty mug, and when the grass starts looking faded I throw the old one in the garden so the nutrients can release as they decompose, and then start a fresh "crop" of kitty grass. It's super simple: wash out the mug, mix the little soil pallet with 6 oz. of warm water, put it in the mug except a bit to cover over the seeds. Then I add the premeasured pack of seeds, sprinkle the remaining soil over the top, and loosely cover with plastic wrap and place under a table in my orchid room. (You don't need to put it in an orchid room, any room will do. But this is my growing space so it's easiest for me.)In a couple of days, the new grass is sprouting up. I take off the plastic wrap and give it a day or two of light, then voila! A fresh batch of cat grass for my little darlings. Cat grass helps their digestion and they really love to eat it. I've never been the greatest at growing things from seed, but the Cat Ladies give you everything to guarantee success. This is a great product!

Product arrived quickly, and I planted them in a wide mouth mug I had at home. The instructions were clear and simple and seeds sprouted in a mere few days. One pack lasted a good few weeks to a month before they started wilting and died. My cat looked forward to munching on them everyday before dinner and deterred him from eating my other plants.

Suffice to say, it was very easy to set up. Dirt disk goes in an old coffee mug. Put some water on the dirt disk and it triples in size as the compressed dirt absorbs the water. Break up the dirt, add seeds, cover with dirt, water some more, put a plastic bag over the mug .... And few days later an amazing salad bar for the pretentious cat is here!
