Works Great. Use with a Ham Radio with a simple modification
I'm very happy to find such a small and low priced MPPT charge controller. I wanted a small controller to use with my QRP Ham set up and this perfectly fits the bill. The only down side is that this unit is noisy. Easily fixed though. Just take a 240-43 mix toroid and wrap the power cord between the controller and the radio with as many turns as you can get on the toroid and the noise goes away. Now it works perfectly and I have not spent $140.00 on a Genasun controller to get an efficient and quiet, small charge controller. Easy and cheap fix that now does not cause any noise in my transceiver. If you are not using this controller for something like a ham radio. Maybe just to charge something like a battery or cell phone, the noise it generates should not cause you any problems as is. Most all charge controllers generate some noise unless you get one like the Genasun, which is very expensive. Ham operators, try one, you'll really like it.

Works really well
Hooked this up to my solar setup and the error codes helped me to get the set up correct and then monitor the charge. better than the Harbor Freight one.

Review of the 10 amp MPPT solar controller.
OK, i have tried MANY cheap solar controllers. Most are worthless and don't work or last. This one surprised me. It worked perfectly out of the box.. the printing in the manual was tiny and I had trouble reading it.. It was easy to install and they provided some nice SAE connectors to use.. The connectors are heavy duty. All you do is connect the charger to a battery and then to a panel (in that order). You then hold the button down till it goes into the battery type mode.. which selects between lead acid, AGM and LFP types. This is very nice for this priced controller. it is easy to set up but the LCD display is very hard to see in sunlight. That's not much of a problem though.. I just wait till the sun is going down... this panel will handle 100 watts or 10 amps.. and is intended for use with a 12v battery. Which means it should handle a 125w solar panel. I purchased a few sets of SAE connectors and I use this for multiple batteries and panels. The controller is small and it fits in my battery box on the camper hitch. This would also work well for those newer campers that are "wired" for a solar panel... where you purchase a portable solar panel and place it near your camper. Wired means they run a wire from an external connector on the side of your camper and to your battery. You need a solar controller in line before it gets to the battery.. What you do is connect this 10 amp controller to the back of your solar panel and run the wires to the jack your camper. That way you can charge your battery... For safety: always use a circuit breakers rated for the current being used in line from the wire to your solar controller and in line on your 115v inverter to the 12v battery.

Nice improvement over cheap Harbor Freight
Just got this today, but it’s a great improvement over the basic 7 amp HF controller. The button for setting the battery type and to cycle through the display is simple enough to figure out without instructions. It does give error codes if there is a problem, so you’ll need the paper for that. As far as functioning, it charges the attached battery, and automatically drops to a float charge based on the battery type you select. Worth it for the low price tag, assuming that it lasts.
